Careers at AkzoNobel

AkzoNobel is hiring a Supply Chain Planner.

Let’s paint the picture of the role:

At AkzoNobel, you will become part of the supply planning team of 60+ highly diverse, international, and young supply chain enthusiasts from over 20+ nationalities. With our diverse culture, we are strongly connected by creating a shared mindset characterized as ambitious, open-minded, proactive, informal, and collaborative.

Our team develops a supply chain network that serves millions of customers. Through our vast number of suppliers, manufacturing locations, and warehouses worldwide, we manage to keep all our customers satisfied. Your potential team includes various interdependent planning functions that complement each other to satisfy all your internal and external stakeholders.

From our Above Market Planning hub (AMP) in Sassenheim, supply planners collaborate with main stakeholders in demand, manufacturing, logistics, procurement, as well as external suppliers to ensure a high service rate for all. In this role, you will set supply plans for our global sites to satisfy demand while taking complex constraints into account.

Responsibilities

  • Material Planning: Plan all raw materials and packaging, ensuring that the production plan can be executed. Through close contact with procurement and suppliers you ensure a solid supplier relationship and performance.
  • Production Planning (PP): Develop the factory plan for the short term (12 weeks) and long term (24 months) in which you fulfill market demand while considering factory capacity/constraints.
  • Products for Resale (PFR) Planning: Work closely with suppliers from whom we source materials that are an addition to our paint/coating portfolio, such as spray paints, paint samples and supportive materials (e.g. brushes, tape, dust masks).
  • Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): Ensure the optimized distribution of products from the central warehouse towards the different warehouses across a complex global market. This requires the experience to understand market demand and customer needs in order to best divide the production plan.

What do you need to have to be successful in this role?

  • University Education (e.g. Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other relevant discipline) with Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Supply Planning within the FMCG, Paint/Coating, or Retail sectors
  • Proficient in Supply Planning using SAP and Business Intelligence (BI) tools
  • Focused on results
  • Good problem-solving skills, able to identify and structure issues, run accurate analyses and synthesize recommendations
  • Strong desire to challenge and improve status-quo
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility and able to work under-pressure
  • Fluent and able to work in English

What do we offer in return?

It’s a two-way street. This means that we offer not only a competitive salary but also believe in a healthy work-life balance:

  • Above average number of annual holidays
  • Participation in the AkzoNobel pension plan
  • Fixed bonus (CLA)
  • Travel expenses to and from work
  • Opportunities for ongoing education and professional development
  • Hybrid way of working (60/40)
  • Being part of events and networking platforms
  • Paint with a discount
