Introduction to the job

As team lead - tax and treasury accounting, you oversee our global tax and treasury processes such as tax and treasury accounting, transfer price calculations and treasury operations, ensuring that all relevant controls are in place and well-executed to safeguard the financial integrity behind ASML’s advanced technology.

In this function, you lead both direct and indirect tax compliance across the Netherlands and EMEA and you own all treasury operations related processes. You guide the Tax & Treasury Accounting team in Veldhoven and drive continuous process improvements that help us reach world‑class operational standards.

Role and responsibilities

As a team lead (9 team members), you will be responsible for tax and treasury accounting, control and compliance and will collaborate with experts from Corporate Treasury, Tax & Customs, and Accounting Expert Advisory teams. Together with the Tax & Treasury accounting team, you will be part of Finance Operations within the ASML Business Services (ABS) organization. You are also a member of the ABS Finance Operations leadership team.

In this role, you will lead efficient and accurate tax and treasury accounting processes (incl. transfer price calculations, financial instrument accounting, fair value calculations and hedge accounting) for group consolidation and reporting purposes. You will also oversee the execution and monitoring of tax compliance processes (e.g., CIT, VAT, dividend WHT, etc.) for ASML’s EMEA entities.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Prepare proposals and work together with the Tax, Treasury and Expert Advisory teams on special transactions and ensure incorporation of changes in accounting standards
• Maintain, monitor and report regarding the global execution of the treasury policies as well as create and maintain treasury specific management information
• Determine and monitor tax positions (incl. transfer price adjustments) of the ASML EMEA entities for group and local statutory purposes
• Execute day to day treasury control activities, in-house cash governance (incl. deal settlements, bank account life cycle management, exposure monitoring) in close collaboration with the Corporate Treasury team
• Execute data gathering for country-by-country reporting purposes as well as DAC6 reporting
• Support tax audits and facilitate tax data gathering for internal decision-making and alignment with external stakeholders
• Maintain and monitor SOX compliant processes, contribute to the execution of SOX controls as well as maintain the Tax & Treasury related disclosures for quarterly external reporting

Education and experience

• Master’s degree in accounting supplemented by relevant tax and treasury education and preferably RA/CPA qualification
• 12+ years of experience in multinational environments in comparable positions or Big Four
• Experience with tax accounting and tax compliance and related processes
• Experience with treasury accounting and treasury processes
• Proven experience in leading teams of highly skilled and motivated people
• IT technical experience with data analytics, data mining, AI and automation of processes is a plus
