Introduction to the job

ASML's NXE (New eXtreme ultraviolet) department is at the forefront of advanced semiconductor technology. NXE receives high-precision parts from suppliers, assembles and tests them, and installs complete EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography machines at customer sites.

The Quality Department plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing quality manufacturing processes and culture within NXE. It acts as a bridge across departments such as Product Engineering (PE), Development & Engineering (D&E), Installation, Supply Chain (SC), and various factory units.

As part of evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of our quality control processes we need to monitor the End to End quality indicators of our MF processes. In such extremely dynamic, innovative organization with use of complex technologies, the role of “Quality Control Engineer” represents the voice of the customer internally within NXE.

Role and responsibilities

As our QCE you will be responsible for executing and optimizing quality control processes, including the Product Quality Inspection (PQI) method, for a dedicated part of the manufacturing process. You will develop and execute these quality control processes with support from a team of quality inspectors and close collaboration with your senior QCE. This role ensures that products and processes meet ASML’s stringent quality standards through structured inspections, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities are;

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes using state-of-the-art quality and continuous improvement toolboxes.
  • Train, coach, and supervise the team of quality gate inspectors.
  • Ensure proper quality controls are in place — including procedures, norms, inspections, tests, or Poka Yoke solutions — to guarantee EUV systems meet agreed quality standards.
  • Participate in root cause analyses executed by the senior QCE and PE to identify, troubleshoot, and prevent recurring quality issues.
  • Monitor and address internal and external customer feedback and complaints related to manufacturing quality.
  • Collaborate with QSMs (Quality Supplier Managers) and suppliers to uphold incoming materials quality.
  • Drive quality improvements by initiating and following through on corrective and preventive actions.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in quality assurance/control within a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
  • Practical knowledge and application of Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt certification preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Strong understanding of quality tools and techniques including 8D, FMEA, SPC, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience in creating and executing Quality Control Plans.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Analytical mindset with a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Leadership ability to guide operational teams and manage quality gate inspectors.
  • Ability to lead and contribute to cross-disciplinary meetings and customer audits.
  • Long-term mindset in daily operational tasks, promoting sustainable improvements.
  • Team player who actively shares knowledge and contributes to team growth.

We're moving technology forward
In fact, we’re probably a part of the electronic device you’re using right now. Our lithography technology is fundamental to mass producing semiconductor chips. With it, the world’s top chipmakers are creating microchips that are more powerful, faster and energy efficient.
