As First Engineer Deck, you are responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, repair, and technical performance of all deck and mission systems and equipment under the supervision of the Chief Engineer. You will direct the Shift Leader Deck and work closely with multiple on‑board departments, ensuring safe and efficient execution of all deck‑related activities.
The Technical Department, under responsibility of the Chief Engineer, is vital to the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. In accordance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations, this department ensures compliance with standards for machinery maintenance, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. Its primary role is to maintain and operate all mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary systems on board, guaranteeing reliability and safety at sea.
Within this department, the Deck Engineers are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of deck machinery and mission equipment, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company standards.
Your tasks will contain (but are not limited to) the following:
You will also have the authority to take decisive action in emergencies, act as Area Authority where designated, and exercise Stop the Job authority in line with company standards.
