At Aquablu, we design and build hardware that needs to work, not just in theory, but at scale, in the real world. That’s where you come in. You’ll be the bridge between product design and production reality. You take concepts and turn them into manufacturable, scalable, and cost-efficient products, working directly with suppliers across Europe and Asia to make it happen. This is not a coordination role. You own the tooling, the suppliers, and the outcome.

What you’ll do

You own the full journey from design to production readiness for critical components.

  • Own supplier technical relationships for all production tooling (injection molds, stamping dies, casting tooling, complex assemblies)

  • Take designs to suppliers and validate manufacturability, coming back with clear, actionable feedback on feasibility, tolerances, finishes, and lead times

  • Drive design freeze decisions based on real-world validation. You sign off when parts are actually buildable

  • Lead FOT and sample approvals on-site at supplier locations. You decide if tooling is production-ready or needs another iteration

  • Build and manage a strong supply base across injection molded parts, sheet metal, fluid components, and electronics

  • Own the transition from Engineering BOM to Production BOM, ensuring suppliers, lead times, and tooling status are fully validated before production

  • Partner closely with Procurement. They own commercials, you own technical execution and tooling success

  • Work hand-in-hand with Engineering to close the loop, feeding supplier insights back into design until it’s fully manufacturable

What we build is only as good as how it’s made. You are the person who makes sure our products don’t just look good, but can actually be produced at scale, with the right quality and at the right cost.

What you bring

You’ve been in the trenches of hardware production and know what it takes to get parts out of a factory, not just onto a CAD model.

  • 7–10 years of experience in industrialization, NPI, or tooling engineering within hardware manufacturing

  • Deep hands-on experience with injection molding tooling. You’ve run mold builds end-to-end and know what good vs. bad looks like

  • Strong experience with sheet metal and stamping. You understand forming limits, tooling design, and cost drivers

  • Solid DFM expertise across multiple processes such as injection molding, sheet metal, machining, casting, and assembly

  • Experience working with international suppliers in Europe and or Asia, including on-site visits and tooling trials

  • Familiar with contract manufacturing or EMS setups

  • Experience with structured development processes such as APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, FAI, PPAP

  • Strong project management skills. You can handle multiple tooling projects at once and keep things moving
