Head of Content & Design

The Head of Content & Design leads the creative core of the Content & Design Studio, translating Rituals’ brand and marketing strategy into the content and experiences our customers see every day. This role shapes how we look, feel, and speak across all channels, using insights, data, and platform intelligence to turn strategic priorities into content that is both beautiful and impactful.

As the Studio’s creative and communications strategist, this leader unites art direction, design, copy, content creation, print, and social behind one shared vision. You partner closely with Brand Marketing to guide communication strategy, ensure cohesive storytelling, and elevate execution across every touchpoint, from a single product tile to a full global campaign, for both digital as offline (Instore).

You work hand-in-hand with Studio Operations, Localisation, and UX & Design System to balance ambition with delivery. As a strategic-creative leader, you translate strategy into a clear creative roadmap, navigate senior stakeholders with ease, and lift the entire Studio through clarity, confidence and collaboration.

Your Accountabilities

Creative & Commercial Leadership

  • Lead and elevate Rituals’ creative output across all Studio-owned channels, ensuring consistent brand expression and craft excellence.
  • Translate brand/campaign strategy into fit-for-channel creative systems and high-impact assets across paid, CRM, retail, digital, app and social.
  • Drive effectiveness through insights and performance data, while coaching craft leads to build a high-performing team (15 FTE) aligned to long-term brand growth.

Strategic Partnership

  • Be a senior creative partner to Global Marketing, Brand Agency, Digital Trading and CRM, turning upstream ideas into high-performing storytelling and conversion across journeys.
  • Embed platform-first best practices (Meta/Google/media partners) and a test-and-learn approach driven by data, behavioural science and smart experimentation.
  • Collaborate with UX/Design System to deliver emotionally “Rituals” yet clear and accessible digital experiences, while aligning senior stakeholders and keeping focus.

Culture & Craft Stewardship

  • Foster a psychologically safe, high-performing Studio culture rooted in creativity, curiosity and continuous learning.
  • Grow and coach talent through real-time feedback, stretch opportunities, succession focus and sharing industry best practice.
  • Strengthen collaboration and hybrid craft development, connecting the team’s work to customer impact and Rituals’ values.

Business Performance & Governance

  • Drive Studio output against key KPIs (creative performance, velocity, quality and brand consistency) while protecting focus through clear scope and priorities.
  • Report outcomes at senior level, translating creative decisions and performance into business-ready narratives.
  • Anticipate risks and opportunities, make pragmatic decisions, and align cross-functional stakeholders to deliver strong results.

  • 10+ years leading creative and content teams within global, omnichannel, or premium brand environments.
  • Deep expertise in art direction, design, copy, or content, with a strong instinct for brand storytelling and emotional design.
  • Sharp understanding of channel-specific creative performance across Meta, Google, CRM, e-commerce, and retail.
  • Comfortably blends intuition and data, concept and execution, big-picture thinking and day-to-day problem solving.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to bring people with different perspectives into shared clarity.
  • A natural coach who builds trust, grows talent, and lifts the creative bar in a way that feels human and inspiring.
  • Passionate about innovation, new creative technologies, and using AI to elevate both craft and efficiency.
  • Residency in the Netherlands required.
