Join Our Technical Department: Third Engineer ER

The Technical Department, under responsibility of the Chief Engineer, is vital to the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. In accordance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations, this department ensures compliance with standards for machinery maintenance, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. Its primary role is to maintain and operate all mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary systems on board, guaranteeing reliability and safety at sea.

Your role

As Third Engineer ER, you are essential to the safe and efficient operation of our vessels’ engine room and machinery. You’ll work on offshore projects worldwide, reporting to the Second and First Engineer ER, and collaborating with a skilled technical team.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a safe engine room watch in line with STCW A-VIII/2, and promptly reporting any changes in equipment operation.
  • Acting as deputy for the Second Engineer ER when required by the Chief Engineer.
  • Carrying out tasks efficiently and in accordance with Allseas Integrated Management System (AIMS) standards.
  • Completing timely administration, including planned maintenance and statutory logbooks.
  • Assisting the Second Engineer ER in operating and maintaining the Power Generation and Propulsion plants, ensuring reliability, environmental responsibility, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Using and updating safety procedures and documentation under supervision.
  • Performing independent watchkeeping, maintenance, and repairs, diagnosing faults, and documenting corrective actions.
  • Remaining in the engine or control room during DP operations or as instructed, and fulfilling duties on the station bill, including ship security.
  • Conducting accurate duty rounds and equipment inspections, and actively participating in handovers.
  • On construction vessels, maintaining operability of heavy lift systems and cranes, monitoring deck technical equipment, assisting the construction department, and supporting the ROV department when needed.

You will also have the authority to stop the job if safety or compliance is at risk, in line with the Allseas Integrated Management System. Working at Allseas allows you the chance to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with creative thinking, collaboration and down-to-earth culture at its core.
