At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary! Whether it’s Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 Car, a Woolly Mammoth’s Skeleton, Lady Gaga's Jumpsuit or Usain Bolt’s running shoe, we encounter exceptional objects every day. We’re a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects! Each week we offer over 75,000 unique items in auction, carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts. Having sold over 20 million unique objects to date, we’re on a mission to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects.

  • Taking ownership and driving impact
  • Being open to change and feedback
  • Being passionate about our mission and our customers.

If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us on this exciting journey!

About the role

We’re looking for a Marketing Analyst to become the analytical backbone of our market strategy.

You will sit at the intersection of Marketing and Insights. Your core mission is to understand where growth will come from across European markets, why, and how we should allocate budget to capture it.

What you’ll do

  • Build deep GEO intelligence:
    • Analyse performance by market (traffic, conversion, LTV, CPA, GMV) and identify drivers behind growth or decline
    • Spot market opportunities using demand/supply signals, category strengths, cultural trends, and buyer behaviour
    • Run market opportunity sizing (TAM/SAM thinking) and help shape market prioritisation
    • Detect anomalies early (efficiency shifts, demand drops, category/geography mismatches)
    • Partner with Category Marketing to identify the best category–market combinations for growth
    • Act as the go-to expert for “What’s happening in Italy, France, Spain, NL… and why?”
  • Guide market-level budget allocation:
    • Recommend shifting budgets across markets based on ROI, opportunity and predicted impact
    • Support quarterly/annual planning with geo-led scenarios and growth theses
    • Help build playbooks for top markets.
  • Run incrementality & measurement work:
    • Design and analyse geo-based experiments (geo splits, holdouts, lift studies)
    • Translate test results into clear recommendations: scale, pause, or adjust
    • Develop a practical, business-ready attribution POV for markets
    • Work closely with Data/Insights to refine measurement frameworks and ensure KPI consistency
  • Be a core member of the GEO working model:
    • Provide market insights that underpin GEO strategies, targets, and growth plans
    • Collaborate with finance, marketing and data to ensure decisions are grounded in robust analysis

You will report to the director of performance & category marketing and be a part of the Insights & MI chapter for tooling, standards, and analytical coaching.

What you’ll bring

  • Experienced analyst with a market lens:
    • ~4–7 years of experience in marketing analytics, growth analytics, or market intelligence. You’re comfortable working with large datasets and translating them into insights and recommendations.
  • Strong on measurement & experimentation:
    • Hands-on experience with incrementality testing, attribution logic, and performance diagnostics. You know how to design tests, define success metrics, and deliver clear interpretations.
  • Technically fluent:
    • Strong SQL skills and experience with BI tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI). Comfortable working with data teams on models and pipelines. Python/R are a plus, not a requirement.
  • Commercial & outcome-driven:
    • You ruthlessly prioritise the analyses that influence decisions and improve LTV/CPA efficiency.
  • A clear communicator & cross-functional partner:
    • You simplify complexity and work confidently with marketers, category managers, finance and data stakeholders. You're comfortable challenging assumptions and guiding decisions.
  • Structured, curious and pragmatic:
    • You build frameworks, not one-offs. You're motivated by understanding markets, customers and category behaviour.
  • Experience in marketplaces, e-commerce, or multi-country setups is a plus.

The role is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. That said, some roles may be an exception: if the job description states that the position is fully remote or 100% office-based, that arrangement will apply instead.

If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
