Observability Platform is responsible for managing the capabilities that help identifying the issues within TomTom’s online products and ensure they are timely fixed to enable best customer experience. We drive improving the operational quality and effectiveness of the service and aim to enable self-service for our users by system engineering and software development.

What you’ll do:

  • As a Platform Engineer you will work on addressing reliability, availability, scalability, efficiency for your team’s components and help the rest of the company benefit from them.
  • You will manage existing Observability tools and help internal customers master them.
  • You will learn by example about the architecture, design, standards, and implementation of new and existing systems to enhance their functionality, reliability, efficiency and scalability with a moderate level of autonomy.
  • You will learn to scale systems and increase their reliability in a diverse environment ensuring the mission critical systems meet 99.95% SLOs.
  • You will support navigation tooling in the world.

What you'll need

  • Experience with modern coding/infrastructure related languages such as Golang and/or Python.
  • Systems engineering fundamentals understanding: Linux, containers, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS), distributed systems basics
  • Non-production experience with Cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes and/or other CNCF and/or Observability-related tools.
  • Theoretical high-level understanding what SRE/Platform/Infrastructure/DevOps teams/organizations are responsible for within Software Engineering domain.
  • Theoretical knowledge about SRE best practices, observability, GitOps practices/infrastructure automation including infrastructure as code.
  • Understanding of security and compliance essentials
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
