About the role:

We are seeking a hands-on Product Owner to manage the development of our Owned.com platform for key conversion driving areas. With a deep understanding of D2C .com platforms, the successful candidate will have expertise in digital payments, PSP integrations, and checkout optimization to shape and scale the global payments ecosystem, as well as developing extensive functionality to improve not only the promotion types we can offer onsite, but the way in which we can manage this as a business.

Working in collaboration with the Director of Owned Commerce and another Product Owner, you will steer the overall .com development roadmap. You will own the end-to-end payments and checkout product domain, from technical integration to conversion optimization and reconciliation, ensuring a seamless, secure, and scalable consumer experience. This role combines strong technical understanding (APIs, tokenization, reconciliation flows) with a product mindset (conversion, authorization performance).

The impact you’ll make:

Product Ownership & Roadmap

  • Define, maintain, and prioritize the Basket, Checkout & Payments product backlog aligned with business, technical and compliance goals.
  • Maintain End2End flow, connecting upper funnel (Pricing and Promotions) to lower funnel (Basket, Checkout & Payments) aligned with business, technical and compliance goals.
  • Develop and execute a global payments roadmap covering new payment methods, fraud prevention and reconciliation automation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (D2C sales, Tech, Finance, Data, Legal, Consumer Care) and external PSPs to deliver new capabilities efficiently.
  • Develop and execute global promotions type roadmap to expand the types of promotions the D2C business can offer and improve the UI to reduce manual interventions.

Technical Ownership

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for PSP integrations, tokenization and API-based payment flows.
  • Translate functional requirements into clear technical user stories, ensuring smooth collaboration with development teams.
  • Oversee the technical setup and troubleshooting of payment and fraud solutions.
  • Support and optimize reconciliation processes, including marketplace transactions (e.g., Amazon, Bol.com), ensuring accurate financial settlement.
  • Support pricing SaaS tool configuration and improvements, from technical perspective, ensuring the tool is properly embedded into all relevant workflows and act as escalation point, managing stakeholder relationships for all related touchpoints.

Conversion & A/B Testing

  • Collaborate in the joint AB testing roadmap, testing checkout flows to identify uplift opportunities in conversion and authorization rates.
  • Partner with in-house UX/CRO specialists to optimize payment UI, method mix, and user experience across markets and devices.
  • Define and monitor KPIs such as payment success rate, authorization uplift and decline reasons.

Fraud & Risk

  • Collaborate with provider’s fraud & risk teams to define and maintain effective fraud prevention and SCA strategies, balancing customer friction and fraud loss.
  • Evaluate and optimize fraud tools and risk rule configurations in line with market nuances.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as primary contact for payment and fraud solution providers, managing operational and technical performance.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to streamline reconciliation, reporting and dispute handling.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on payment performance KPIs to senior leadership.

Key Metrics of Success

  • Improvement in conversion rate
  • Increase in successful payment authorization rates
  • Faster reconciliation accuracy and financial settlement
  • Time-to-market for new payment method launches
  • Reduced fraud and false-positive rates

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science or a related technical field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in eCommerce payments, product ownership or payment technology roles.
  • Strong background in API-based integrations with PSPs.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (SAP Hybris), especially in payment or checkout implementations.
  • Proven track record of A/B testing and checkout optimization initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of payment reconciliation flows, especially for marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Bol.com).
  • Experience managing payment performance metrics.
  • Hands-on exposure to fraud prevention systems is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent stakeholder communication across business and tech
  • Data-driven approach to prioritization and experimentation
  • Understanding of PCI, PSD2/SCA, tokenization and risk management principles

What we’ll give you in return:
