Would you like to contribute to innovation, decarbonization and the future of our planet?

Vattenfall is now looking for a Senior Development Manager Transport & Installation Engineering to join the Transportation & Installation Engineering team within our Business Area Wind, Offshore, Project Delivery & Engineering.

The Project Delivery & Engineering department serves as the technical know-how center within Business Area Wind, setting standards and guidelines and being embedded within our projects throughout the development, implementation, and operational phases.

What will you do?

As Senior Development Manager Transport & Installation, you will represent the Project Execution organization and primarily support our offshore wind projects during their development stage. Your main responsibility is to lead and drive Transport and Installation (T&I) concepts across all installation packages, supporting our Technical Project Managers.

  • Creating the most suitable T&I set-up for development projects, including the associated CAPEX budget and required documentation. You will be involved in project phases ranging from early development (TG0) to handover to the project execution team (TG2).
  • Taking the lead in building block development and maintenance for future potentials, utilizing an automated approach to decrease reaction time in a fast-changing market environment.
  • Proactively discussing new methodologies with suppliers to facilitate the pipeline of Vattenfall offshore wind projects.
  • Actively driving interfaces of the Transportation & Installation Engineering department towards stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative work environment that enables swift exchange among team members and proactively supports the resolution of technical and resource-related issues.
  • Supporting our Installation Engineers in execution, O&M, or decommissioning projects with expertise on methodologies, lessons learned, and concepts to ensure the most successful and cost-efficient project execution.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree and experience in offshore Transport and Installation, preferably across multiple disciplines (Foundation, Cables, WTGs, Hydrogen).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, ideally gained in highly regulated industries such as offshore, renewables, oil and gas, or chemical industry.
  • Experience with offshore wind Transport and Installation methodologies is highly preferred. Knowledge of offshore installation vessels, installation tools and methodologies, and relevant offshore codes and standards is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in the execution of Transport and Installation projects, including setting targets, development planning, quantifying risks, and assessing budget impact. Experience at an offshore Installation Contractor is highly appreciated.
  • Experience in Cable Installation projects with a strong focus on technology is a key asset.
  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to resolve detailed issues and coherently convey complex technical matters and risk costing.
  • Ability to manage the development of Transport and Installation methodologies and maintain associated budgets for offshore projects.
  • Proactive, positive mindset with strong self-motivation and resilience, flexible and solution-oriented, and comfortable managing several tasks to often challenging deadlines.
  • Living our core principles: Active, Open, Positive, and Safety.

You will be part of a highly skilled team in the Transportation & Installation Engineering Department. While your primary focus will be on projects in development, some involvement in offshore wind projects in execution or operation can also be expected. Your previous experience will enable you to provide valuable input to development, technical, and execution strategies, as well as engagement with our future project pipeline.
