Do you want to help shape the way a new department works and learn how large technical projects come to life at a global marine contractor? At Van Oord you can. As an intern you join a team that builds future proof processes for our Tendering and Engineering organisation.

Value Assurance Internship

THE POSITION

Tendering and Engineering is the technical backbone of Van Oord. With more than seven hundred colleagues, this department shapes the bid phase and supports the full lifecycle of our dredging, offshore wind, and marine construction projects. Within this environment, the Value Assurance team is a newly created department. Its goal is to set clear standards and support teams so they can deliver on their promises. As an intern, you help create the systems and workflows that will guide this department in the coming years. Your work also supports the wider Tendering and Engineering community, which means that your impact reaches far beyond your direct team.

Your Role

  • You will join a close team of six colleagues based in Rotterdam.
  • You will sometimes visit our office in Gorinchem to connect with other teams.
  • From day one, you play an active role and your work helps colleagues across Tendering and Engineering.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks that keep the department running smoothly.
  • Help set up systems and workflows for the new Value Assurance department.
  • Prepare internal documents and templates that create clarity and consistency.
  • Improve the visibility and visualisation of tendering and engineering processes.
  • Assist in the creation of training materials and tools that support learning.

ABOUT YOU

  • You are a third or fourth year Bachelor or Master student in Business Administration or a related field.
  • You enjoy organising information and creating structure that helps people succeed.
  • Affinity with software and digital tools.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and curious mindset.
  • Flexibility and the ability to switch tasks with ease.
  • Good command of English and experience with PowerPoint and Excel.

WE OFFER

  • An internship where you will make a meaningful contribution to our mission of building a better world for future generations.
  • Extensive development opportunities including a comprehensive online academy via Goodhabitz.
  • Communities to join such as Young Van Oord and the Van Oord Intern Community.
  • Various social events and activities including excursions, lectures, workshops, sport events, and informal gatherings.
  • An inspiring and international workplace with guidance from experienced colleagues.
  • A challenging and rewarding internship where you learn by doing and exploring.
You come up with something at your desk and then see it actually working on a ship. That’s incredibly rewarding.
