Introduction

The Diagnostics Tooling team is part of ASML's Development and Engineering Software Diagnostics and Service Infra department. As an intern, you will collaborate with colleagues at ASML to design and migrate existing legacy solutions into modern, scalable architectures. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the modernization of critical systems, gain hands-on experience in transforming complex software landscapes, and support the Diagnostics Tooling team in a dynamic, innovative environment.

Your Assignment

You will focus on the following key responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing legacy diagnostic data pipeline and identify modernization opportunities.
  • Migrate components of the legacy monolithic architecture to a modern, scalable, cloud-based solution.
  • Refactor and optimize legacy code and configurations for compatibility with Azure Cloud services.
  • Implement CI/CD processes to ensure smooth deployment and integration of migrated solutions into the ASML Cloud (Azure) environment.
  • Validate and test the migrated architecture for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Internship Details

  • This is a university (of applied sciences) bachelor or master internship (also suited for a thesis internship) for at least 6 months for a minimum of 4 days a week (2 days onsite).
  • The start date of this internship is February/March 2026.

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are a student in Computer Science or a similar field.
  • Have knowledge of software designing, CI/CD, Java, and object-oriented programming.
  • Have affinity with cloud, stream processing, and batch processing.
  • Are proactive, well-organized, and stress resilient.
  • Have great communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Other Requirements

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship.
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. If you are currently living or studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include your willingness to relocate.
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation explaining why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular.
