Unit Manager Finance (Engels)

The Unit Manager Finance is responsible for leading the finance unit within the organization. He or she ensures the efficient and effective execution of financial processes and contributes to strategic decision-making. The manager is a connecting leader who inspires, coaches, and develops employees.

As Unit Manager Finance, you’ll lead a dedicated financial team and foster a positive, results-oriented work environment. You’ll shape and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s objectives, while ensuring accurate and timely reporting, annual accounts, and budgets. Acting as a strategic partner, you’ll collaborate closely with the management team and other departments to support sound decision-making.

Over de functie

Als Unit Manager Finance ben je verantwoordelijk voor het aansturen van de financiële afdeling van The Public Entity of Sint Eustatius. Je zorgt voor een correcte en tijdige uitvoering van de financiële administratie, het opstellen van begrotingen en jaarrekeningen, en het adviseren van het management op financieel gebied.

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Leidinggeven aan het financiële team en zorgen voor een efficiënte werkverdeling.
• Opstellen, bewaken en rapporteren van de begroting en financiële rapportages.
• Adviseren van het management over financiële vraagstukken en beleidsontwikkelingen.
• Toezien op de naleving van wet- en regelgeving op financieel gebied.
• Optimaliseren van financiële processen en systemen.

• Vast contract na jaarcontract (bij voldoende functioneren)
• A competitive salary in job salary scale Scale 12 gross monthly between $5,500.99 - $6,884.96 (36-hour workweek). Assignment to a pay scale based on knowledge and experience.
• Holiday allowance of 8.33% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% of the annual salary.
• 168 holiday hours per year pro rata based of a 36-hour working week.

What we ask

• A completed higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) degree in Finance, such as Business Economics or Accountancy.
• At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the finance domain.
• Strong analytical abilities and strategic insight.
• Experience with change management and team development.
• A proactive, results-oriented and hands-on attitude.
• Excellent command of both English and Dutch, spoken and written.
• The intention and commitment to fulfil this role for a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
• Afgeronde opleiding op hbo- of wo-niveau in een relevante richting.
• Meerdere jaren ervaring in een vergelijkbare functie.
• Leidinggevende capaciteiten en ervaring met het aansturen van een team.
• Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden in het Engels.
• Kennis van financiële wet- en regelgeving.

• The selected candidate must provide a certificate of good conduct (VOG) and undergo medical evaluation for inclusion in the pension fund.

  • Residents of the Caribbean part of the Netherlands

• A preference will be given to candidates who are locally based.

Employment conditions

• The selected candidate may receive temporary employment for a trial period of one year, with the prospect of permanent employment.
