Join Our Finance Team as an Interim Financial Controller

Start: January 2026 | Duration: 3–6 months | Location: Kats (hybrid, 3 days onsite)

We are looking for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support our Finance team during a critical period: the FY2025 year-end closing, the preparation of the IFRS Annual Report, and the first external audit with our new auditor KPMG. Are you a strong finance professional with IFRS expertise, audit experience, and a hands-on approach? Then we would like to hear from you.

The Role

As Interim Financial Controller, you are the driving force behind the year-end process and the full audit cycle. You ensure a timely, accurate and IFRS-compliant delivery of the 2025 Annual Report and act as the main point of contact for KPMG. You also safeguard a smooth month-end close, high-quality consolidation and reliable financial reporting towards lenders.

What You Will Do

  • Annual Report & Audit (primary focus)
    • Lead the preparation of the IFRS Annual Report for FY2025.
    • Coordinate the audit with KPMG and manage all deliverables, documentation and technical discussions.
    • Ensure timely and complete responses to audit requests and resolve outstanding points.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (HR, operations, sustainability, legal, tax) to ensure complete and accurate disclosures.
  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation
    • Lead the month-end closing process and ensure timely management reporting.
    • Deliver accurate group and entity-level consolidation.
    • Maintain and improve reporting schedules, reconciliations and accounting governance.
  • IFRS & Technical Accounting
    • Act as the internal IFRS specialist for complex accounting matters.
    • Prepare and maintain technical memos (including IFRS 2, IFRS 9, IFRS 16 and valuation topics).
    • Review IFRS disclosures and ensure alignment with standards and audit expectations.
  • Financing Reporting
    • Prepare covenant calculations, certificates and lender reporting under financing agreements.
    • Ensure all deadlines and documentation requirements are met.
    • Work closely with the CFO and external advisors on covenant interpretation and documentation.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
    • Work with Caseware, Exact Online and the consolidation database.
    • Document processes and reporting flows to ensure smooth handover and continuity.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Audit (Master’s is a plus).
  • At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in financial control, IFRS reporting, audit or technical accounting.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and proven consolidation experience.
  • Experience with Caseware and Exact Online is required.
  • Experience managing or performing external audits (preferably with a Big Four firm).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, RA, ACCA or CMA are a plus.

Your Competencies

  • Highly accurate, analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable working with external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, autonomous and reliable under pressure.
  • Able to prioritise effectively during peak periods.

What Success Looks Like

  • ✔ IFRS Annual Report 2025 delivered on time
  • ✔ Audit successfully completed and signed by KPMG
  • ✔ Accurate and timely financing compliance reporting
  • ✔ Consistent and timely month-end closing
