About Naïf

Our mission is to change the world of personal care, and to protect and care for the environment that our children (and their children) will live in at all costs. We choose to make personal care products that are mild for sensitive skin and less harmful for our planet. We were the first brand to introduce plastic-free wet wipes in the Netherlands, and we actively campaign against the use of microplastics in personal care products.

We have everything you need for your baby, from diaper cream to plastic-free wipes, shampoo and even sunscreen. The sensitive baby skin doesn’t need a lot if you ask us, and definitely no bad stuff. That’s why Naïf products are made with natural ingredients, and without mineral oils, microplastics or SLES.

Your role

You'll be stepping into a crucial role, covering a maternity leave and becoming the backbone of our financial operations. In this role you'll work closely with the CFO; the two of you run the finance department.

Your mission? To ensure every cent is accounted for, our books are spotless, and our team has the financial support they need. This isn't just about keeping the seat warm; it's about maintaining stability, providing key insights, and being the go-to expert for the team and a key partner to our CFO. What will you do?

  • Keep the engine running: You'll own our daily finances, from managing B2B invoices and ensuring our bookkeeping is flawless to proactively chasing down any overdue payments.
  • Close the books like a pro: You'll confidently handle our month-end and year-end closings, prepping the balance sheet and income statements. You'll also team up with our external accountant to go through the annual audit.
  • Be our budget guru: You'll help build the annual budgets and then take full ownership of our spend control policy. You'll keep a sharp eye on our expenses, tracking variances and making sure we stay on course.
  • Dot the i's: You'll manage all our tax filings (VAT, ICP, OSS) to make sure we're always 100% compliant and on time. You'll also keep our records audit-ready.
  • Manage the cash flow: You'll keep your finger on the pulse of our cash, ensuring we always have what we need for payroll and other critical expenses, all while spotting and analyzing key trends.
  • Make us even better: Got a great idea to improve a process? We want to hear it! You'll help fine-tune our finance workflows, document key procedures, and implement smart controls. You'll also be the official gatekeeper of our price lists.
  • Look to the future: You'll support our CFO by helping to create financial projections and forecasts when needed.
  • Be the go-to expert: You'll be the helpful face of finance for the whole team, answering questions about payments and expenses. You'll also be the main contact for our external accountants.

What will you bring?

  • A solid background as a Financial Controller or experienced Accountant. You've run the show before and are comfortable with the A-Z of finance.
  • An amazing attention to detail & integrity. You're the one who spots things everyone else misses, and understand the importance of discretion and can be trusted with sensitive financial information.
  • Deep technical know-how in month-end closings, P&L/Balance Sheet prep, and tax filings (VAT, ICP, OSS).
  • The insight to not just report the numbers, but to understand what they're really telling us and how they impact the business.
  • A genuine focus on quality and a proactive drive to make things more efficient, accurate, and streamlined.
  • You're a whiz with Excel (extra points if you know how XERO works!)
  • You're ready to jump in and join our team from March 1st 2026 for a temporary period (until end of August 2026).

Working at Naïf

At Naïf, we aim to change the world of personal care. It can and must be done better as 9 out of 10 personal care products still contain plastic. We believe in a world where only the best ingredients are used for baby skin and where microplastics are no longer found in a baby's bath or care routine. Working at Naïf is not just a job; you truly can contribute to a change in the world of personal care! And the job comes with:

  • Working in a start-up culture full of energy, impact, freedom, and a motivated team.
  • A beautiful office to work from, located near the beach of Scheveningen, along with hybrid working possibilities.
  • At least 25 vacation days per year on a full-time basis (or some more if needed).
  • A competitive salary package.
  • A discount on a gym membership at Urban Sport Club.
  • And many Naïf products..

So, are you enthusiastic, motivated, and want to be part of our team? Don’t hesitate; we can't wait to hear from you!

Naïf is more than just a company to work for: it is a sustainable skincare brand with products coming straight from our hearts. We strive to improve ourselves every day. Innovative ideas and your input are greatly valued. Creativity is highly appreciated and stimulated. We are a fast-growing start-up with a beachfront office in The Hague and operating on an international level. This results in new and exciting challenges every day.
