Join Rituals as a Senior Product Compliance Specialist

At Rituals, we are looking for a Senior Product Compliance Specialist to strengthen our Regulatory department. In this role, you will ensure that all Rituals products meet applicable regulatory, safety, efficacy, and labeling requirements throughout their entire lifecycle, across all markets and categories. From the earliest creative concept to the final product on the shelf, you make sure our formulations, claims, packaging, and labels reflect all relevant legislation. You translate complex regulations into clear guidance, helping teams make confident decisions that keep our products safe, compliant, and ready for launch. Your expertise spans both cosmetic and packaging legislation, from EU Cosmetic Regulation to emerging global packaging requirements.

This is a highly collaborative role in an international environment, working closely with Innovation, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Sourcing, and Marketing. In short, you are the guardian of product and packaging compliance, ensuring our collections are not only beautiful and innovative, but also safe, responsible, and fully compliant.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as key point of contact for packaging compliance topics, including packaging tax, PPWR, EPR, and environmental claims.
  • Monitor global cosmetic and packaging legislation and translate upcoming requirements into clear, actionable internal guidelines.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on regulatory impacts for formulations, ingredients, claims, labelling, and packaging.
  • Perform regulatory risk assessments, ingredient checks, claim evaluations, and label compliance reviews throughout the PLCM (product life cycle management) process.
  • Provide regulatory input for NPD (new product development) to ensure that concepts, names, claims, and formulas meet market requirements.
  • Participate in the Packaging Tax Working Group and collaborate closely with R&D Packaging, Innovation, and Finance.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are delivered on time to support flawless launches.
  • Communicate regulatory recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders and support correct implementation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance processes and internal ways of working.

Bring all of you

You are a proactive and detail-oriented specialist who is experienced in cosmetic and packaging legislation within the EU and international markets. You enjoy navigating complex legislation and guiding teams with clarity and confidence.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Life Sciences or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in product compliance or regulatory affairs within the cosmetics, personal care or related consumer good industries.
  • Strong knowledge of EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, ingredient regulations and global cosmetic frameworks.
  • Preferably experience with packaging legislation, including packaging tax, PPWR, EPR and other environmental legislation.
  • Experience supporting NPD and PLCM processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.

You bring curiosity, sound judgment in complex regulatory situations and a hands-on mindset and enjoy working cross-functionally, finding solutions and continuously improving how we work.
