Internship Opportunity at vidaXL: Design-Oriented Logistics & Supply Chain

Are you an ambitious HBO or Master student in Logistics or Supply Chain looking for a challenging, design-oriented internship? Do you enjoy turning complex transport data into actionable insights and solutions? Then this internship at vidaXL is made for you!

You will:

You will work on a design study to improve our transport routing efficiency. Key tasks:

• Analyze 2025 historical transport data to compare single-destination vs. multi-destination trips — considering palletized vs. loose loads, carriers, and loading constraints.
• Build a simulation model for future trips to test trailer utilization under different routing strategies.
• Compare load-type efficiencies (palletized vs. loose-loaded) to identify where each method is most effective.
• Model transport costs per route section, and calculate cost per cubic meter per destination for combined and single-destination trips.
• Evaluate lead time implications for customers between combined-destination trips vs. direct single-destination trips.
• Design a dashboard concept showing cubic meters per km driven vs. expected volume, to help planners optimize trailer filling and routing.

You have:

• You are an HBO or Master student in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• You have strong analytical and modeling skills; familiarity with Excel, Python, R, Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
• You have a proactive attitude, are structured and precise, and are comfortable working with confidential data.
• You have a design-oriented mind: you don’t just analyze problems — you deliver solutions.
• Good command of English (and Dutch is a plus).
