Associate Manager, DashMart - DashMart Warehouse Design Strategy & Operations

About the Team

Our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team is re-inventing the way consumers think about grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery through both our first-party and third-party operations businesses. DashMarts are our first-party offering designed to provide on-demand deliveries through a new type of convenience. Inside DashMarts we sell household essentials, groceries, brand-name favorites, local favorites and so much more! We have sites all over the country and are growing our geographic footprint, services we offer and scaling our existing sites today!

About the Role

You will sit on our DashMart Warehouse and Process Optimization team which is responsible for the tools, technology and equipment that power our DashMarts. Our mission is to ensure warehouse design, infrastructure, processes, and tooling are designed and integrated for optimal efficiency and quality outcomes. You will be responsible for creating and evolving the design principles that guide our DashMarts: from initial creation of design standards, to measurement of process throughput and site design bottlenecks, to recommending ongoing improvements and executing site-level design changes. You will analyze data and recommend optimal design decisions to achieve business outcomes, and work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, product management, real estate, and construction teams to make them a reality. You will report to the Senior Manager on our DashMart Strategy & Operations; we operate in a hybrid model - you will spend some time in your home office, in person via offsites and remotely as well. This is a non-technical role and sits under our Strategy & Operations job family, under the office of the COO.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Build. You’ll have your fingerprints all over DoorDash’s next big business. You’ll do whatever it takes to launch, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details.

  • Strategize. From first principles, you’ll develop the optimal strategy for best serving our customers.

  • Experiment. You’ll transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing your larger initiative implementation plans.

  • Analyze. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data.

  • Lead and collaborate. You’ll work with a cross-functional team, including local operations, engineering, and space planning teams.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to solve problems in innovative ways, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.

  • You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is beneath you.

  • You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments

  • You’re analytical. You let data win arguments, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL or modeling in Excel. Experience with AutoCad, FlexSim, or other design and simulation software is a plus.

  • You have 4-6+ years of professional experience. You’ve succeeded in high-performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, manufacturing, automation, engineering, etc).

  • You have 2+ years of experience with physical retail or warehousing environments. Experience in grocery warehousing or online micro-fulfillment centers is preferred.

  • You have completed your BS/BA Degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

We expect this position to be filled by 1/21/2026
