This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Strategy & Operations Manager - EMEA Regulatory

Adyen is evolving from a global payments leader into a full-stack financial technology platform, powering embedded financial products like card issuing, business accounts, and cash advances. The Regulatory team plays a central role in enabling this growth.

We are looking for a Strategy & Operations Manager to support the execution of our regulatory priorities and strengthen the operational backbone of the team. This role is ideal for a critical thinker with strong project management skills and a passion for enabling high-impact work in a complex, fast-moving environment. They should apply independent judgment and structured thinking to complex problems, unafraid to challenge assumptions, question the status quo, and propose creative, well-reasoned solutions.

What you’ll do

  • You will drive the execution of strategic priorities for the Regulatory function and the wider global organization. You will enable the Regulatory team to operate effectively by designing, implementing, and leading high-priority projects, anticipating dilemmas and working closely with Adyen leadership to navigate complex challenges.
  • You will lead and coordinate complex workstreams, making sure that responsibilities are clearly distributed, deadlines are realistic, and progress is transparent. Whether it’s preparing for a new financial product launch, supporting regulatory change initiatives, or driving operational excellence, you’ll help keep the team aligned and moving forward.
  • You will introduce structure where needed - from project tracking and reporting to knowledge sharing and meeting rhythms - without over-engineering or slowing down progress. Your focus will be on helping the team work smarter and more efficiently across geographies and topics.
  • You will leverage modern tools, including AI solutions, to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and uncover new ways of working smarter, helping the Regulatory team learn how to best integrate these capabilities into its day-to-day work.
  • You will also be responsible for preparing materials that help drive decision-making. You’ll bring together input from various teams and turn it into clear, actionable communication for leadership and stakeholders.
  • In this role, you are comfortable switching between being a facilitator and being a hands-on owner of operational execution, and you are genuinely excited to do whatever it takes to get things done.

Who you are

You are hands-on, organized, and thrive in complexity. You combine strong execution capabilities with natural curiosity for regulated financial technology.

You have:

  • 4+ years of experience in project- or program management, or Strategy & Operation roles, ideally in a digital innovator/fintech/payments context or a fast-growing technology company.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and relationship building skills that allow you to influence and collaborate with colleagues across all levels of the company.
  • Strong affinity for the regulatory domain with a high-level understanding on what it means to be a licensed institution under supervision, or eagerness to grow in this space.
  • Outstanding problem-solving capabilities with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset and thrives in cross-functional collaboration.
  • A critical and independent mindset, you think deeply about challenges, question assumptions, and apply structured reasoning to propose thoughtful, well-grounded solutions.

This role is based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
