Introduction to the job

The Senior Security AI Specialist is responsible for the security that protects our organization, while meeting regulatory and industry standards. You ensure that ASML’s assets are secure and within risk appetite.

Role and responsibilities

In this role, you will help ASML to effectively and efficiently deal with AI security risks. You will manage and coordinate the lifecycle of AI security assessment, the effectiveness of security controls, and security baselines by means of verification and validation. You validate this by ensuring that adequate monitoring capabilities are realized. Together with our Security Data Analytics & Reporting team, you design and implement effective management reporting and dashboarding capabilities. You flag deviations, escalate to senior management where needed, and own and drive the resolution process to completion.

You will support the manager in preparing and executing an operational plan, ensuring optimal communication regarding the strategic plan towards stakeholders. You ensure the understanding of ASML's AI Security Strategy, contribute to the setting and alignment of team targets and activities, and contribute to the execution of annual plan activities. You achieve desired outcomes of the Security Road Map and the implementation of policies and standards related to AI & Information Security.

You review existing operations and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas, ensuring that the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered. You will drive implementation of changes according to the organization’s standard means and methods. Your other tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Constantly assess AI Security policies, standards, and guidelines for continuous improvement.
  • Translate policy to specific procedures and execution of AI Security related activities at operational and tactical level.
  • Organize and drive the constant build-up of knowledge within Security related to AI / Gen AI & Agentic AI.
  • Share knowledge and insights proactively with stakeholders.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders, seeking input and feedback, and communicating in a clear and effective manner.

In this role, you are positioned in the 2nd line Security organization in the Risk & Business Assurance (RBA&S) department of ASML Corporate.

Education and experience

You have excellent influencing and interpersonal skills, being able to further develop Security Risk and control management within ASML by building trusting and long-term relationships. You are tenacious and possess the ability to overcome organizational resistance, as well as the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.

You have a solid foundation in internal and external stakeholder management, are able to understand different perspectives, can act upon those and can prioritize needs. You are a self-starter, able to operate autonomously with little guidance. Last but not least, you are comfortable in starting up several initiatives at the same time without losing the overview and bigger picture. The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Internal Auditing, IT Management, and/or Data Science & AI.
  • 4 - 9 years professional experience with a focus on security, IT auditing, Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
  • Experience with defining and running security baselines and assessments.
  • Proven track record in Security at tactical level.
  • Deep knowledge of current security technologies, current and future developments for AI security, in-depth working knowledge of IT, Data and Information Risk/security frameworks and best practices, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISF Standard of Good Practice for Information Security, IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-30 framework, NIS2, ISO 27001/2 framework.
