“Creating engaging stories that connect people and bring sustainability to life across HEINEKEN’s operations.”

HEINEKEN is committed to driving sustainability and operational excellence across its global breweries. To support this ambition, we are looking for a creative and motivated intern to strengthen our internal communications and employee engagement within the Global Sustainable Production team.

In this internship, you will help build and maintain clear and engaging communication channels — including creating digital content, managing internal platforms like SharePoint and Workvivo, and enhancing awareness of key sustainability programs such as our Race to Reduce initiative.

In this internship you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting internal communications, employee engagement, and change management initiatives.
  • Developing people-focused digital content — including graphics, videos, and visuals — to showcase how Global Sustainable Production supports breweries in achieving sustainability goals.
  • Assisting in the creation of other graphic materials, ensuring alignment with HEINEKEN’s visual identity.
  • Helping manage the communication calendar and maintaining digital channels such as Workvivo and SharePoint, as well as supporting Energy & Water community webinars.
  • Creating a clear, well-structured SharePoint page to enable easy access to key content, organized by area.
  • Enhancing internal storytelling around the Race to Reduce program, helping to inform, inspire, and engage employees to participate.
  • Collaborating with the Global Sustainable Production teams to ensure consistency and quality of content.

During your internship you will get the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside your department. We give you trust and freedom, so you can work like a real entrepreneur. We like to bring the outside world inside and therefore we embrace new, fresh ideas with enthusiasm. Of course, always with the guidance that is right for you.

The department

The Sustainable Production department (part of Global Production, Supply Chain) consists of a multidisciplinary team, working on different subjects of sustainability of our operations such as water and energy usage, decarbonization, wastewater management and reporting. The team is made up of professionals from different countries, expertise and academic background with all one goal: to make our operations more sustainable.

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 February 2026
  • The internship is full time
  • The duration of the internship is 6 months
  • It is a practice-oriented internship
  • You will be based in Amsterdam
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross per month based on 40 hours per week
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on full time)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

The unique you!

We believe that everyone has unique talents and are therefore looking for you!

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic video editing tools
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging messages for diverse audiences
  • A self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • A creative thinker who brings fresh ideas to employee communications
