You will be reporting to the Head of Project Delivery & Engineering in BU Offshore Wind.

Project Delivery & Engineering is responsible for the maturation and execution of our construction projects and for being the Engineering and Project Management service backbone for the entire lifecycle of a windfarm. Our vision is to be one step ahead of competition in safely constructing next generation offshore wind farms while deploying our knowledge already during the planning and contracting phases in order to secure successful project delivery.

As Project Delivery & Engineering, we are in the centre of making a fossil-free future become reality by delivering some of the largest infrastructure projects in the world safely, timely, of high quality and within budget in a complex and dynamic environment.

What will you do?

As Head of Digital Engineering, you will lead the development of digital products and solutions for Operational Technology (OT) across the full lifecycle of offshore wind farms—from design and construction to operation and decommissioning. You will drive synergies in control and analytical modelling by enabling collaboration between infrastructure and data teams, and continuously enhance engineering design through end-to-end data integration.

You will lead a team of line managers across the core domains of Digital Engineering. You will foster a culture of continuous learning by embedding lessons learned into daily operations and driving improvements in our ways of working. This ensures strong alignment within the Digital Engineering team and across interfaces with development projects and operational assets.

Furthermore, your responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the Digital Engineering department, including line managers responsible for:
    • Data Acquisition, Monitoring & Control
    • Connectivity & OT Digital Infrastructure
    • Cybersecurity
    • Data Foundation & Integration
  • Be responsible for people & knowledge management with employees in 4 different countries (UK, DK, DE and NL).
  • Driving digitalisation of and integration in key work flows in offshore wind farms by implementing hardware and software solutions.
  • Ensure operational readiness through robust capabilities, compliance, and system reliability.
  • Foster collaboration with Engineering departments, Vattenfall Digitalization and Vattenfall IT.
  • Driving standardisation of activities, developing and implementing best practice systems and processes.
  • Proactively promote cross-functional improvements.
  • Increasing safety and security awareness and increasing HSE performance on projects and in the line.
  • Contributing to the implementation and continued improvement of our strategy.
  • Securing (financial) performance of the department.

Qualifications

  • Master degree combined with MBA (commercial mindset) and supported by senior leadership training.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience in the (offshore) wind industry and leading managers that drive successful digital initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of all lifecycle phases of developing offshore assets including the main data flow.
  • Proven track record in developing digital solutions and software in close alignment with the right hardware.
  • Proven track record in successfully developing businesses and organisations, including communication at board level.
  • Strong security mindset with a strong commitment to contribute to the development and delivery of inherently more secure wind farms.
  • Demonstratable leadership, communication, change management experience and stakeholder management skills; ability to handle interfaces and collaborate across functions.
  • High degree of self-motivation with a flexible approach to work.
  • Fluency in English is required, Danish/German language skills an advantage.
