At Tata Steel IJmuiden, we're transforming our operations to become a green, clean and circular company. As our process engineer dedusting technology, you'll be the specialist who makes this vision reality across our 17 work units operating 24/7. Working with impressive installations including fans, fabric filters, scrubbers, and electrostatic precipitators with capacities up to 2.5 MW, you'll tackle one of the industry's biggest challenges.

Your role spans the entire project lifecycle – from initial concept to final commissioning. You'll specify dedusting installations for investment projects, improve dust management in existing large-scale industrial installations, and serve as the go-to expert for technical solutions. Whether you're developing new technical standards, advising on practical solutions, or collaborating with project teams and maintenance managers, every day brings new challenges that directly contribute to a cleaner environment and sustainable steel production.

  • You are the specialist in dedusting technology across our entire operation.

  • You guide projects from start to finish. You specify new dedusting installations for investment projects and improve dust management in existing facilities.

  • You serve as the go-to expert for all 17 work units. You’ll develop technical standards and provide practical solutions.

  • You collaborate in diverse project teams. You’ll work with maintenance managers, engineers, and specialists from different disciplines.

  • A base monthly salary ranging from € 4.229,83 to € 8.204,50 gross, depending on your education and experience.
  • A total of 10% fixed annual bonuses: a 2% year-end bonus and 8% holiday allowance, plus a variable profit-sharing bonus.
  • A good work-life balance with at least 37 days off per year (26 vacation days and 11.5 additional days).
  • Participation in our collective pension scheme, with 70% of your contribution paid by us.

Is This You?

You thrive on solving complex technical challenges and making theory work in practice. You're the type of engineer who gets energized by tackling operational problems and implementing practical solutions that make a real difference. Collaboration comes naturally to you – whether working in project teams or consulting with maintenance managers across different work units. Furthermore, you have:

  • Completed higher professional education (HBO) or university education (WO) in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, process engineering or similar field.
  • Industrial work experience with fans, filter installations and/or exhaust gas installations.
  • Solid knowledge of fluid mechanics, both theoretical and practical application.
  • Experience working effectively in project teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, persuasiveness and excellent listening abilities.

Your Work Environment

You'll be part of the Projects & Engineering department, a proactive team providing specialized project management and engineering services. Your home base is the Ventilation, Noise and Lubrication Technology department—a team of eight specialists working just a stone's throw from our production facilities.

This collaborative environment puts you right in the heart of operations, where you can see the immediate impact of your work. The team consists of leading specialists who are passionate about their field and committed to supporting each other's growth.

You'll work closely with various work units across our 24/7 operation, from project initiation through to commissioning, ensuring every dedusting solution meets our high standards for environmental performance and operational excellence.
