We are looking to hire a Technical Author to join our Customer Documentation Team. As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for the creation, localization, and distribution of technical content in various formats for our customers and partners. You will play a key role in translating complex technical information into clear, easy-to-understand content, ensuring compliance and providing our customers with high quality accessible resources.

What you’ll do

  • Gather technical information from internal teams and suppliers, and translate it into clear, accurate and accessible language suitable for customers.
  • Create high quality technical content, such as operating manuals, maintenance manuals and start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Create visually appealing diagrams, drawings and other graphic content to enhance the presentation and comprehension of technical information.
  • Effectively communicate with Engineers, Trainers, Technical Support and Field Service Engineers to improve documentation issues and gather feedback for future improvements.
  • Work closely with our Training Department to equip the instructor(s) with the necessary knowledge and tools for effective training.
  • Continuously improve content creation processes, explore innovative ways to enhance the effectiveness of technical communication and stay updated on industry trends for content creation and instructional design.

Who are we looking for?

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
  • You have a bachelor's or master's within the Mechanical / Electrical / IT domain.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into engaging content.
  • Experience with topic-based writing, working with a CMS and documentation standards (e.g. DITA / XML, S1000D, STE) is a plus.
  • Ability to work with high degree of autonomy in a collaborative team environment.
  • You are able to lead documentation projects from start to finish.
  • Experience with working with international and multi-disciplinary teams.

  • A gross monthly salary between €3719 and €5177 +8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week).
