MERCHANDISING MANAGER – L’OREAL PARIS

Member of the Business Development Team // Based in the Netherlands or Belgium

For our Consumer Products Division, we are looking for a talented merchandising manager to join the Business Development team. You will be responsible for L’Oreal Paris and all our make-up units at our BNL retailers. You will be working in the make-up merchandising team with the merchandising & category leads who will manage, coach and support you.

The merchandising manager is responsible for the in-store merchandising of our brand at all our retailers in the Benelux (BNL). By deploying and optimizing the best in-store materials and furniture, you determine how our customers experience their shopping trips. Therefore, you play a crucial role within our diverse team.

For the role, you need to have an eye for detail, operational excellence and smart business solutions. We are looking for someone who is not afraid of challenging peers & stakeholders to make conscious decisions with impact.

Purpose of the role

As merchandising manager you are fully responsible for the instore execution of our merchandising units. Together with the merchandising team you work on the service rounds, newest launches, return plan and look for optimizations in the portfolio.

In summary you will;

  • Ensure the best in class merchandising execution to create strong visibility in store (in line with the brand values).
  • Develop and roll out new makeup displays & in-store materials.
  • Optimize the shopping experience in our own stores by adapting the layout, materials, communication, etc.
  • Collaborate with the product brand manager to sharpen our assortment, decide on the best launches and returns, for the most optimal assortment in place.
  • Ensure that the newest products receive the correct visibility and are available in the market on time.
  • Manage your own budget and find new ways to create cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with our suppliers
  • Ensure a smooth process with our retailers and the service round process
  • Develop a strong relationship with the marketing team, the sales teams, logistics and finance teams, the international merchandising team, retailers, and national and international suppliers.

This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. To carry out this role successfully, you will work with:

  • The merchandising team on optimizations of processes, focusing on harmonization and simplicity
  • Product Manager, together you will evaluate new launches and space in your merchandising unit. You dare to challenge and give advise on the best assortment mix based on financial KPI
  • Category lead, who will drive the category & merchandising strategy towards our shared goals
  • Revenue Growth Manager make-up, who shares insights on mix and potential OUTs to take into account
  • Retailers, with whom you will work on service rounds and big projects
  • Account manager. With whom you align on SR and returns
  • Zone / DMI to share knowledge and have newest merch-vision
  • Suppliers, with whom you work on daily business to create the best modules
  • Purchasing, to align on best suppliers, price and service

What qualities and education do you need for this position:

  • Masters degree.
  • >1-3 years experience
  • Good command of English in word and writing. Fluent in Dutch or French is a must.
  • You have a passion for beauty and details
  • Affinity with the dynamics of retail environments
