Introduction to the Job

As a Security Specialist focused on Microsoft Purview and eDiscovery, you will play a key role in ensuring the security, compliance, and governance of ASML’s digital assets. You will collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and security teams to implement data governance strategies, manage sensitive data, and support legal and regulatory investigations using Microsoft Purview and eDiscovery tools.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee security and compliance initiatives with a focus on Microsoft Purview and eDiscovery capabilities. You will work with a hybrid team (onsite and offshore) to coordinate tasks and responsibilities across data governance and security operations.

  • Implement and manage Microsoft Purview solutions for data classification, labeling, and protection.
  • Support eDiscovery workflows including case creation, data collection, search, and export for legal and compliance teams.
  • Monitor and optimize data governance policies and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT Operations to securely configure and maintain Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support internal audits related to data governance and legal holds.
  • Develop and enforce security and compliance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in incident response and investigations involving sensitive data.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data protection and discovery processes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in security operations, IT infrastructure, or compliance roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Compliance Center, and eDiscovery (Standard & Premium).
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and legal hold processes.
  • Experience in cloud security (Azure), system hardening, and networking protocols.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies; SAFe experience is a plus.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate are preferred.

A Certificate of Good Conduct “Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag (VOG)” is required for this position.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
