Accelerate Europe’s energy transition and digital transformation by originating, structuring, and closing innovative, high-value project finance transactions

This is what we offer you

  • Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance
  • 10% Employee Benefit Budget
  • EUR 1,400 development budget per year
  • Hybrid working: balance between home and office work (possible for most roles)
  • A pension, for which you can set the maximum amount of your personal contribution

You will shape the European energy transition and digital transformation by delivering high‑impact financings. As an Associate (Director) you will be part of a collaborative team and work on a diverse scope of deals across Western Europe; think onshore wind in Ireland, batteries in the UK, electric trains in France, solar in Italy, datacentres in Germany or sustainable heating and geothermal in the Netherlands. You will have regular client contact with top‑tier infrastructure investment funds, project developers, independent power producers and utilities operating across Europe. Transaction sizes range from tens of millions to a few billion EUR investments and are characterised by a high degree of complexity, enabling you to use your creativity and analytical skills.

  • Close complex financings that enable large‑scale renewable energy generation or critical digital infrastructure, contributing directly to a more sustainable and inclusive future.
  • Build strong client relationships that accelerate sustainable or digital infrastructure investments across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Attain internal approvals through clear credit proposals and timely execution, ensuring strong risk‑return outcomes.

Facts & figures

  • A team of around 80 professionals that holds a leading position in the European renewable energy and infrastructure project finance market.
  • 9.5 million customers worldwide.

Top 3 responsibilities

  • Contribute to the origination, structuring and execution of complex project finance transactions, where we expect you to lead workstreams across the entire deal process (Associate) or lead multiple workstreams and have more responsibility for the complete credit process (Associate Director), ensuring compliance with Rabobank's corporate standards throughout.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Finance Europe colleagues across varying deal teams, with various other departments within Rabobank and of course with our clients (incl. travel within the Netherlands and Europe).
  • Contribute proactively to internal working groups to e.g. monitor market developments and continuously improve the organization and development of the department.
“Working at Rabobank Project Finance means that you can directly contribute to the energy transition throughout Europe. As an Associate Director you will be actively involved in every step of the financing process: from sourcing new opportunities in the market, structuring and pitching financing solutions to the client to obtaining internal credit approvals that will enable our client to make a viable impact towards a more sustainable world. Last but not least, you will have the opportunity to work in a deal-driven environment and be part of an international, knowledgeable and ambitious team where you can truly be yourself and where you will get the opportunity to further develop yourself.”
