We are now looking for a Head of O&M Projects & Logistics within Integrated Operations in our Generation organization, in Business Area Wind.

Generation is the organization that is fully accountable for the asset performance of Vattenfall’s offshore wind farms. This includes operating the wind farms through optimization of revenues in relation to the power market and maintaining the wind farms in a healthy, safe, sustainable and cost-efficient way to ensure best availability and full compliance with requirements.

You will be part of Integrated Operations, which is responsible for enabling the establishment of strong operation and maintenance of our wind farms and, by being an integrated part of the site operations, enabling the sites to harvest the benefits of being part of the Vattenfall portfolio. Integrated Operations consists of four teams: O&M Projects & Logistics, Operational Control Centre, Technical Integrity Management, and Supply Chain & Maintenance Systems. The unit is a vital part of the journey to be a best-in-class operator and creates many exciting opportunities to take part in.

What will you do?

The main responsibility of the Head of O&M Projects & Logistics is to ensure the performance of Main Component Exchanges, Fast Response Plan Projects, and Special Projects, mainly focusing on larger repairs and upgrades of our offshore assets. Additionally, the Head of O&M Projects & Logistics provides end-to-end marine support as well as a competence centre for marine and aviation issues. In general, you will ensure all deliveries are within quality, time, and budget, supporting sites and internal support functions to maximize their profit in a safe way.

You will be leading leaders (managers of MCE and Offshore Logistics) as well as direct reports (project managers for FRP and Special Projects) in a team that is organized internationally, and you will report directly to the Head of Integrated Operations.

The teams are covering the following main deliverables:

Main Component Exchange (MCE) and MCE Operations

The MCE team leads main component exchange projects for all our offshore sites and ensures delivery within quality, time, and budget, supporting the sites to maximize their profit in a safe way. The team supports the sites with in-house, highly trained technicians for special campaigns and main component exchanges.

Offshore Logistics

The Offshore Logistics team plays a crucial role in delivering safe and reliable offshore transportation for the Generation assets. The team consists of leads/experts in the field of marine and aviation, tasked with delivering competence and resources on offshore logistics solutions, such as CTVs, SOVs, Jack-ups, helicopters, and drones.

FRP (Fast Response Plan) and Special Projects

  • Update and maintain the FRP (Fast Response Plan);
  • Test and ensure the readiness level for FRP for various sites, ensuring access to the needed documentation and spare parts;
  • Ensure that needed FWA’s are in place to support the projects in cooperation with Commercial Management and other internal/external stakeholders;
  • Manage the development, planning, risk identification/mitigation, and establish budget for assignments and projects;
  • Manage the execution of assignments and projects from TG0 to TG5;

For all three areas, the continuous development of processes and driving standardization plays a crucial role for the Head of O&M Projects and Logistics, including:

  • Ensuring that internal governance is followed for the O&M Projects & Logistics department and acting as co-chair for the Generation Project Steerco;
  • Ensuring portfolio management and reporting of the projects within Generation;
  • Acting as Project Sponsor for various projects;
  • Ensuring high quality and safety standards throughout the projects/operations and that all needed reporting is completed;
  • Capturing lessons learned and feedback from the projects;

Your background

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a similar leadership position in the energy sector or a technical industry, such as project management or offshore logistics. Offshore/onshore wind knowledge from a development, project, or O&M role is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in technical, operation and maintenance, and commercial and asset management is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead international teams, drive a performance culture, and develop key skills and knowledge.
  • Experience implementing successful changes in an operational and highly dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, comfortable presenting, building relationships internally and externally with contractors, and influencing others while working effectively across diverse cultures and geographical locations.
  • Highly motivated, inspiring, and communicative leader.
  • Health and safety as the highest priority.
  • Comprehensive presentation and calculation skills (e.g., MS-Office package) and previous experience with SAP and electrical knowledge are beneficial.
  • Fluent in English.
