“I’m passionate about legal operations and the idea of working smarter and not harder. Combining my legal knowledge, passion for technology, and project management skills to help HEINEKEN Legal Affairs department realize their lofty ambitions is what makes my internship unique!”

The Internship

Our Legal Operations internship has been running in Legal Affairs since 2022 to great success. It covers the full spectrum of legal operations duties, including technology selection and adoption, change management, communications, cross-functional collaboration, problem solving, and much more! You’ll be exposed to a variety of topics and no two days will be the same.

  • You will support the implementation and adoption of the Contract Lifecycle Management Solution within various operating companies around the globe, as well as additional projects such as fine tuning our usage of various softwares related to legal spend management, process automation, helping to coordinate Legal function meetings, and more.
  • You will be introduced to an agile way of working as part of a multidisciplinary scrum team, providing an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tech tools that are transforming the legal sector and driving improvements in both legal processes and operational efficiency.
  • Your responsibilities will be diverse: from providing training, connecting the dots between key stakeholders and change management.
  • You’ll be at the heart of shaping how our Legal function works with the rest of the business. This isn’t just an internship—it’s a chance to make a real impact. You’ll help uncover what our legal team needs and turn those insights into practical solutions that drive collaboration across departments. Expect hands-on experience in legal operations, exposure to cross-functional teamwork, and the opportunity to see how strategic decisions come to life. If you’re curious, proactive, and eager to learn, this role will give you a front-row seat to the inner workings of a dynamic legal environment.

Your New Team and Workplace

Legal operations provides the strategic planning, financial management, project management, and technology expertise that enables legal professionals to focus on providing legal advice. We are a small but mighty team within Legal Affairs and we report directly to the General Counsel while supporting the entire function across the globe.

During your internship, you’ll have every opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within your own team, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. At HEINEKEN, we love bringing the outside world in and welcome fresh, new ideas with open arms. Of course, we’ll make sure you get the guidance that suits you.

The Unique You!

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we’re looking for you! Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program related to Legal
  • Passion for process automation, technology, and problem solving
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite is a must; experience with legal specific solutions like CLM, e-billing, eDiscovery, document management, and more is a plus but not required

Even if you feel you don’t meet all the criteria, we encourage you to apply. An internship is the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!
