Join The Social Hub as Legal Counsel – M&A

Your mission, should you choose to accept it

This isn’t your typical legal counsel role. As Legal Counsel – M&A at The Social Hub, you’ll be right at the centre of our fast-paced, international expansion — from the earliest stages of scouting locations to closing complex cross-border deals.

You’ll work closely with our Investment, Development, Finance, and Executive teams to help us acquire buildings, land, and partnerships across Europe. Whether it’s an asset deal in Rome or a refinancing project in Vienna, you’ll be involved from start to finish. Beyond the deals themselves, you’ll help shape the way we do legal: improving our internal processes, managing corporate governance, and advising teams across TSH as we scale.

You’re not just here to review documents — you’re here to make deals happen, provide strategic input, and ensure we grow intelligently, compliantly, and sustainably. And because we’re not your average hospitality company, this won’t be your average legal team either.

In case you don’t know who we are

Known for being the rule breakers in hospitality, TSH is a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn and play and most importantly – be themselves. As an employer we look, act and think like a hotel, but instead we offer a lot more. Think student accommodation, long and short stay options, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink escapes as well as community and coworking spaces. Located in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, and the UK, with several new openings on the way, this hybrid hospitality concept may take root in the heart of Europe, but our plans are set for going global.

What you’ll do

  • Supporting the Investment team from the very first stages of potential deals (NDAs, LOIs, etc.)
  • Leading on transactions (asset deals, share deals, turn-key acquisitions) — working with internal stakeholders and external parties like shareholders and financiers
  • Setting up joint ventures or other strategic partnerships to bring our projects to life
  • Supporting the banking team with refinancing processes (due diligence, data rooms, Q&A, corporate docs)
  • Managing internal corporate governance and corporate housekeeping
  • Improving internal processes, creating templates, and helping implement new tools to scale smarter
  • Coordinating and managing international external counsel when needed
  • Being a great teammate who contributes to the atmosphere, and helps make the Legal team even stronger
  • Reporting directly to the General Counsel

Who you are

  • You have a Master’s degree in Dutch law
  • You bring around 5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally from an international law firm or in-house legal team
  • You have solid expertise in transactions, JVs and ideally real estate — bonus points if you know your way around hotel management agreements
  • You’ve been involved in due diligence processes more than a few times
  • You’re structured, pragmatic, and thrive under deadlines
  • You’re proactive, fast, and not afraid to make decisions – a true can-do mentality
  • You write and speak excellent English and Dutch; other languages (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese) are a plus
  • You’re comfortable managing internal and external stakeholders across cultures
  • You can be in our Amsterdam office a few days per week

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to work at a dynamic, multi-national company based in one of Europe’s most exciting cities
  • We’re not just another hotel - we’re a game-changing innovator, challenging every convention and defining the future
  • The chance to learn and grow in your role with the potential for future growth
  • Awesome discounts on all our properties in Europe and not just for you, but also for your friends and family!
  • A wonderful workplace to call home - full of events, fun-loving colleagues, and of course all of the other amazing salary and benefit stuff

The Social Hub is much more than a hotel. In our boundary-blurring spaces we bring together a new generation of bold change-makers to connect, learn, stay, work, and play. Creating memorable experiences for our community of hotel guests, students, creatives, enterprising minds and anyone in between.
