Join Tony’s Chocolonely as a Data Analyst

Why we are here
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too. The Tony’s Open Chain team runs the cocoa impact programs for Tony’s Chocolonely and all its more than 20 Mission Allies.

What you will do
At Tony’s Chocolonely, we’re on a mission to make all chocolate 100% exploitation-free — and that means every decision we make is powered by data (and cocoa beans, of course 🍫). As our new Tony’s Open Chain Data Analyst, you’ll turn numbers about the farmers we work with into stories, data chaos into clarity, and dashboards into delicious insights that drive our mission forward.

You’ll be the go-to data hero — owning, cleaning, and connecting data from all corners of our choco-universe. You’ll help us make sense of it all: from tracking impact across our value chain to spotting where we can do better, faster, and fairer. Your work won’t just sit in spreadsheets — it’ll shape how Tony’s Open Chain grows globally and how we lead the way for a fairer cocoa industry.

This is not your typical “report and repeat” analyst role. You’ll have full ownership of data management and visualization, building better integrations, improving scripts, and partnering with teams across Amsterdam and West Africa. We’re still building the data function, so you’ll get to leave your mark — entrepreneurial spirit required! Expect unstructured data, a bit of messy magic, and the freedom to make things happen your way.

In short: this is your chance to take data, sprinkle in creativity, and make impact you can taste.

All wrapped up

  • Take full ownership of Tony’s Open Chain data universe — managing, cleaning, and automating master data from multiple sources (and making it look easy). Most notably, you’ll guard the quality and completeness of our ‘Farmer Master Data’ (that’s our overview of more than 40,000 farmers we work with) to ensure we can use it to run our programs to decrease child labor and prevent deforestation.
  • Build beautiful, smart dashboards, visualisations & reports that bring key KPIs and impact metrics to life.
  • Create actionable insights that help your fellow Tonys make better, fairer decisions.
  • Partner across teams to monitor progress, measure achievements, and advise with confidence.
  • Handle ad-hoc reporting and help us continuously improve data quality, processes, and integrations.

Job requirements

  • Relevant experience in data analysis, data engineering, or BI roles — ideally in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
  • Our stack? Here’s what we need you to know:
    • Excel – wizard levels!
    • MS Fabric, Snowflake or Databricks;
    • Power Query, Power BI, and ETL platforms;
    • A solid grip on SQL, Python or R, and data formats like XML, JSON, CSV.
  • You are a storyteller! You use dashboards, visualisations and reports to present data in a captivating and clear way.
  • Proven experience with data cleaning, validation, and dashboard creation that tells a clear story.
  • High ownership mindset — you don’t wait for instructions; you take initiative and make it happen.
  • Great communicator who can turn complex data into simple insights (French is a big plus!)
  • We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!
  • Believe wholeheartedly in Tony’s purpose. You live our core values: outspoken, in it together, entrepreneurial, raise the bar and makes you smile.

Our benefits (the icing on the cake)

At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first and foremost, by making real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We’re dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a luxurious vege-lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable events and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate won’t cover the bills, so we’ve made sure your salary is just as rewarding, for this role that means a salary between EUR 54-67k on a yearly basis, including holiday pay.

Sounds like you?

Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Look no further! If you're ready to take the chocolate industry to new heights with us, we'd love to hear from you! Please send your direct application, no agencies. We can't wait to hear from you!

Tony’s Chocolonely wants to make all chocolate 100% slave free. Not just our chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Not exactly the average company, right? Instead a chocolate company whose primary goal is to resolve a social issue in the world.
