Investigate the current creation process for regulatory reports and enhance the process for Paccar Financial Belgium (PFB).

Paccar Financial Belgium must provide regulatory reports/data sets (CAP and BECRIS) to the central bank of Belgium (NBB). The data is created from the reporting platform of the contract management system (ALFA). After some manual steps, the data sets are manually uploaded to the NBB. The NBB site reports the upload result in a validation file, with possible upload errors. This validation file is a large XML file. The errors are either initially ignored or, when possible, manually corrected. A new file is then uploaded. The ignored errors will be analyzed later on and separately corrected. Some of the errors are related to historic information not available in the source system, but are available in a Data Warehouse.

Business need

The process of delivering these reports should be improved:

• A pre-check during the month on data quality is required, before delivering the data sets for month end;
• The creation process should be further automated, with a possible automated upload to the NBB;
• The process on solving the errors should be enhanced.

Your assignment will be to:

• Investigate the current process of the regulatory report creation;
• Investigate possible solutions for further enhancing and automation of the process;
• Develop the proposed solutions and build reports in PowerBI.

Jouw profiel

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern with the following skill set:

• Education: HBO student (3rd year) who is pursuing a degree in fields such as IT or business administration
• Analytical skills on business process and data use
• Basic knowledge of
  • a DWH
  • Microsoft PowerBI
• Language skills: English (written and verbal) or Dutch
• Competencies: Communication skills, teamwork skills, organisational skills, time management, problem solving
• Preferred period of the internship: 4-5 months

Afdeling

PACCAR Financial Europe (PFE) provides financial services to DAF dealers and end customers to support the sales of DAF trucks. PFE is part of the worldwide PACCAR Financial organization, has its headquarters in Eindhoven at the DAF premises and is active in a large number of European countries with its own sales offices and used trucks centers. The PFE Information Technology department is responsible for the development, configuration, testing and deployment of innovative IT-solutions, management of these systems during their lifecycle and support of the users of these systems. PFE-IT consists of approximately 25 fte, of which 20 are internal, and works according to the agile framework. Most of the systems are subject to SOx-regulations.

PFE contains 4 lines of business areas: Wholesale Financing to DAF-dealers, Retail Financing to End Customers, Short Term Leasing and Asset Management & Used Trucks Remarketing. The Retail Financing systems landscape has been renewed recently and a new state-of-the-art systems landscape for Asset Management & Used Trucks Remarketing is currently under development as part of a large IT-project. Other projects are already planned.
