Join Our Team as a Bachelor Student in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering

We are looking for an enthusiastic bachelor student who is studying Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. You have an affinity for trucks and/or cars and are eager to learn about the different applications that exist within the heavy-duty truck market. In doing so, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and various departments within and outside of DAF. You are able to maintain an overview during the research for inputs for the new guidelines. Some knowledge of CAD programs and the truck industry is a plus!

Jouw profiel

For our PID (Powertrain Integration and Driveline) department, we are looking for a working intern.
You will be responsible for drafting new body builder guidelines for the customer. Your tasks will include:

  • Conducting research on vehicle applications that use PTOs (Power-take-off) to gain knowledge.
  • Translating PTO specifications into body builder guidelines, providing body builders and/or customers with the correct instructions for the installation and calibration of these PTOs.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure other boundary conditions are met when writing the body builder guidelines.
  • The final result will be a document/report that can be used for updating/rolling out the body builder guidelines regarding the PTOs.

Afdeling

Within the Powertrain Product Development Department, the Powertrain Integration & Driveline group is responsible for the development and application of PACCAR Transmissions and Axles.
The axles are developed by DAF PACCAR in Eindhoven and produced in our Axles plant in Westerlo (Belgium). For the transmissions and axles we work closely with suppliers who design and produce the relevant parts for us.Furthermore, PI&D is responsible for functional integration with other Powertrain components and works together with the vehicle development divisions for the functional integration with vehicle systems.
