Credit Risk Analyst

As a Credit Risk Analyst based in Amsterdam, you will join a fast-growing team responsible for evaluating and managing credit risk across Adyen’s suite of financial products, including Adyen Capital. You’ll play a key role in shaping and scaling our credit risk frameworks to support product innovation and sustainable business growth.

Working closely with colleagues in Product, Compliance, Commercial, and Data, you will help build and refine credit strategies that are both robust and adaptable. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on Adyen’s expanding financial products, within a dynamic, international environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring for a range of financial products (e.g. SMB loans, credit lines to enterprise customers).
  • Analyse the impact of macroeconomic trends, sector-specific dynamics, and business models on our portfolios and credit strategy.
  • Develop and refine risk strategies to improve portfolio performance while aligning with Adyen’s risk appetite and business goals.
  • Contribute to the evolution of credit risk policies, procedures, and monitoring frameworks, including global and region-specific requirements.
  • Support the development of credit product features from a risk perspective, providing insights to Product, Commercial, and Compliance teams.
  • Lead and deliver credit risk-related projects, finding optimal solutions to improve outcomes for both Adyen and its customers.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in credit risk analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management, ideally with exposure to a variety of financial products and company types.
  • Knowledge of credit products such as working capital loans, credit lines, or charge cards; experience with SMB and enterprise segments is a plus.
  • Comfortable designing and scaling credit risk frameworks, including governance, metrics, and process automation.
  • A strong communicator who collaborates effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Adaptable, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Fluent in English (other European languages are a plus).
  • University degree in business economics, finance, or another quantitative field preferred.

This role is based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.

We took an unobvious approach to starting a payments company, building a platform from scratch. Today, we're the payments platform of choice for the world's brightest companies. Our unobvious approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity, of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, is essential in helping us maintain our momentum.
