Senior Turbine Installation Engineer

Business Area Wind is responsible for the development, construction, and operation of wind power onshore and offshore, as well as other non-hydro renewable activities such as solar and batteries. We manage the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, ensuring safety and achieving the highest levels of availability and profitability. Additionally, we structure and execute project partnerships in line with our overall wind strategy.

The Engineering department serves as the technical backbone within Business Area Wind, setting standards and guidelines and being embedded within our projects to drive technical excellence throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Within the Project Execution department of Project Delivery & Engineering, the Transportation & Installation Engineering team leverages strong technical and project management competencies to develop and deliver class-leading cable installation methodologies. These efforts support the requirements of our robust offshore wind portfolio across northern Europe.

Vattenfall is seeking a Senior Turbine Installation Engineer – Offshore Wind Projects to join our Business Area Wind, Offshore, Project Delivery & Engineering.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide cable installation engineering expertise to Offshore Wind development projects to deliver key engineering assignments.
• Offer HSE leadership in the design and specification of offshore cable installation methodologies.
• Be accountable for individual projects during delivery phases, supporting the Installation Manager in overall Turbine Installation package delivery across the BU Offshore portfolio.
• Handle project-specific engineering tasks during the development phase to understand and mitigate project-specific engineering risks.
• Support Operational Service by providing engineering skills for major operational wind farm replacement and maintenance campaigns.
• Contribute to the structural growth of the Transportation & Installation Engineering team by taking ownership of development work packages.
• Play a key role in developing project engineering competencies.
• Develop your own competencies in both project management and offshore installation methodologies.

Your Profile

• Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of project engineering experience, ideally in an offshore installation context.
• Strong knowledge of offshore installation equipment and systems.
• Commercial and project management mindset.
• Ability to identify and lead installation engineering topics, balancing technical, commercial, and consenting imperatives.
• Good knowledge of the wind energy market, with a focus on wind turbines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, thriving in an environment characterized by disciplinary and cultural diversity.
• Fluent in English; German is an asset.
• Strong intercultural awareness and willingness to work across borders.
• Enthusiastic about the potential of digitalization and proactive in implementing opportunities in the wind industry.
