Be part of progress: Join ASML’s IT Department – Agile Identity & Access Management

Introduction to the job
ASML’s IT department works Agile according to SAFe 5.0 (Scaled Agile Framework 5.0), with teams organized in Agile Release Trains (ARTs). The Identity & Access Management (IAM) ART is responsible for providing seamless, continuous, state-of-the-art capabilities and services to the whole of ASML globally. The IAM ART consists of teams in the domains of Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Access Management (AM), Directory Services, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Cryptography Services (CS). All teams within the ART adopt a DevOps way of working: you build it, you run it, you maintain it, you own it!

Role and responsibilities

As a senior Developer/Architect for Microsoft Directory Services with strong consultancy skills and proven experience in Active Directories, ADFS, and Entra, you are part of an Agile team operating and developing our IAM Directory landscape. This landscape is in transition, moving from an on-premise towards a more cloud-based or hybrid environment. The team owns the technical design, development, and operation of used Directories. Automation is key, and you will help lead the development of a fully automated Directory landscape at ASML.

The IAM senior Developer/Architect for Directories works closely with the IAM Product Owner, Scrum Master, IAM System and Solution Architects at the ART level, and all other members of the IAM DevOps teams within the Agile Release Train for IAM.

Main responsibilities

  • Co-own the technical design, development, configuration, and operation of the IAM AD Directory landscape.
  • Support the System Architect by refining and implementing enablers for the architectural runway.
  • Validate and implement functional and non-functional requirements in agreement with business/IT principles and practices.
  • Provide high-level effort estimation for the implementation of designed solutions during sprint planning.
  • Develop and configure new functionality in line with IAM architectural principles, company IAM strategy, and standard IAM processes.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and pro-activity.
  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum events.
  • Coordinate and validate the realization of designed capabilities/functionalities according to specifications.
  • Communicate timely and clearly, sharing information and knowledge.
  • Share responsibility and leverage the expertise of others.

Education and experience

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical area such as computer science. Security and Cryptography knowledge is a strong precondition.
  • Experience with ArchiMate is a big plus, preferably certified.
  • Valid industry certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, CompTIA+, CISA, or CISM are a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience with Identity & Access Management.
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years professional experience with Directories in general. Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, and Entra is a must; experience with PKI, NetIQ eDIR, IDM and AM, Okta, and/or SailPoint is a plus.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with products such as Docker, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Postman.
  • Experience working with Linux (preferably RedHat) is a plus.
  • Experience working in an Agile team and DevOps environment. Able to develop and implement CICDCT-based automation.
  • Capable of identifying improvements in test and development processes and used technology.
  • Sound understanding of security technologies, best practices, and security policy frameworks.
  • Good experience with visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio/Miro, Mermaid/Graphviz to create clear storylines and logical (flow-)charts.
  • Agile + SAFe certifications are a plus (scrum.org and/or SAFe® certifications).

Skills

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about IAM, cryptography, and certificate technology, and serving business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills. Command of the Dutch language is a plus.
  • Highly motivated, with a strong work ethic and a can-do mentality. Able to work effectively with a team and possess leadership skills.
  • Conceptual thinker who translates high-level concepts into practical solutions, with a broad perspective and innovative approach.
  • Design System thinking: able to design and implement fitting/integrating solutions in a complex environment.
  • Act as a role model, offering support and coaching/mentoring to other team members.

Other requirements

  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
  • A letter of motivation is requested.
