For our QC Department in Made, North Brabant, we are looking for a Seed Health Lab Technician (1 year temporary, full time)

In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine tests for seed health, including ELISA’s, qPCRs, and microbiological work such as making media-plates, culturing methods, and counting CFUs. You will also prepare buffers, plan when to run which tests, and support the development and validation of new protocols.

Additional responsibilities:

Planning and control:

  • Organize the daily and short-term planning and logistics of health tests and monitor progress
  • Organize the intake and planning of samples
  • Monitor progress and update and discuss with manager

Execution:

  • Organize and perform sample preparations
  • Test execution according to protocols
  • Report results in the LIMS system
  • Prepare buffer/agar media, manage inventory, and assist in QC with other activities
  • Signal errors within health tests (machinery, test quality, lead times/delays, safety) to manager or back-up
  • Comply with company guidelines
  • Operate autonomously (no final responsibility)
  • Perform tests according to work instructions and comply with set guidelines
  • Pay attention to health and safety, work according to safety guidelines (MSDS), and act upon safety risks

Job requirements

Candidate profile:

  • Experience in microbiological work and/or molecular techniques (ELISA, qPCR), basic lab knowledge, and ability to work accurately
  • Learning orientation, focused on quality and results
  • Dynamism, flexibility, and proactive thinking
  • Committed, accurate, and structured, with a high-risk awareness mentality
