Job Summary

Accountable for local commercial management and assigned non-strategic sourcing for the geographical area under his / her responsibility. The Senior Buyer is responsible for a larger site or oversight of a cluster of smaller sites. This role is responsible for in-contract modifications, transfers or new products, ensuring products are sourced at competitive prices in line with the aerospace commodity strategy. The Senior Buyer manages supplier delivery for parts sourced as modifications, transfers or new products until FAI (First Article Inspection) is achieved.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee a larger site or a cluster of smaller sites within the assigned geographical area.
  • Report procurement activity and conduct site reviews for the geographical area of responsibility.
  • Act as the interface between programme and commodity management for new sourcing and change programmes in line with the group commodity strategy.
  • Support commodity managers in supplier selection (RFQ/RFP) for the geographic region using E-Sourcing tools.
  • Support and manage parts/supplier transfers and industrialisation (major and minor transfers) through to FAI.
  • Drive implementation of global and regional agreements within the geographic area.
  • Manage the transfer of parts from PO to Schedule, including negotiation of moving from Schedule to consignment/DLF, etc.
  • Ensure all PO demands placed upon suppliers meet key objectives of cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Oversee site procurement change control, export control, and ITAR compliance.
  • Ensure delivery, maintenance, and integrity of the site BOM (Bill of Materials).
  • Maintain and update item/contract data as required.
  • Ensure the flow down of enabled customer materials, pricing, and skyline forecasts to suppliers.
  • Develop and support site cost reduction opportunities and supplier development plans in line with business requirements.
  • Manage supplier risk, including use of rate readiness templates and financial awareness via Dunn & Bradstreet.
  • Manage raw material inventory levels for purchase order parts in line with programme targets and start dates.
  • Resolve invoice queries related to pricing.
  • Act as an escalation point for any cost or contractual issues with suppliers, working with commodity management for further escalation if required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Procurement, or Supply Chain roles.
  • Ability to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.
