About the role

As a Data Scientist, you play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data to inform business decisions. Your work will involve developing and deploying data-driven solutions, bringing them into production, and ensuring they continue to add value. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design statistical models, and use your coding skills to extract meaningful insights from large datasets. This position allows you to be an internal entrepreneur within Business Assurance, building AI systems and teaming up in the broader AI community at DNV.

Engaging with process and product owners, understanding business workflows, data, and needs before shaping AI projects is essential to ensure the development of useful and impactful AI systems. Additionally, you will follow up on AI systems in production to ensure their adoption and ongoing value. Leveraging generative AI technologies, you will create innovative solutions that further enhance business capabilities.

Your daily activities will cover the following areas:

  1. Data Collection and Preprocessing
  • Collect and analyze business results or set up and manage new studies to gather relevant data.
  • Transform data into a suitable format for analysis.
  1. Model Development and Deployment
  • Build AI systems using generative AI technologies to create innovative solutions that enhance business capabilities.
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Design and implement frameworks for data collection and automation.
  • Follow up systems in production to make sure they are adopted and continue to add value.
  1. Reporting and Communication
  • Create reports, demonstrators, and presentations outlining business predictions, proposals, and findings.
  • Communicate insights to stakeholders effectively. It is important to create something tangible, that is “alive” to boost understanding and relevance.
  1. Continuous Learning and Innovation
  • Stay current with technical advancements, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Enable smarter business processes by using analytics for meaningful insights.
  • Explore and experiment with emerging generative AI tools and frameworks to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

About you

To be successful in the role you should:

  • You hold a master’s degree or higher in data science, computer science, statistics or another related field
  • You have deep experience and knowledge with practical AI development for integration in business applications
  • You have strong experience in building and maintaining Python packages, including structuring, testing, and publishing reusable modules.
  • Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • You have working knowledge of git and docker
  • You are eager to learn about new technologies and trends
  • You enjoy working in cross-domain teams
  • You are result-oriented and like to solve problems
  • You are curious and eager to understand customer needs
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills in English
