Job Summary

For Aerostructures, the Commercial Support Officer maintains a strong working relationship with the customer and provides administrative and reporting support to the Commercial Account Manager, ensuring that the customer’s needs are effectively managed by the business. The Commercial Support Officer will focus on dynamic programmes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contract Management:
    • Interface and highlight to the business the need to adhere to its contractual obligations and inform customers of GKN's contractual limits
    • Manage cash tracking and ensure timely payment from customers within agreed terms
    • Adhere to processes and procedures
    • Preparation of contractual quotations and claims including ad hoc non-recurring invoices in line with sign off procedures
    • Responsible for obtaining EUU/EUS to ensure export compliance
  • Relationship Management:
    • Support customer review meetings and dispute resolution with customers as appropriate
    • Support the monitoring of performance, delivery and quality performance issues and recoveries and escalate as appropriate
    • Receive customer initiatives, requests and communications
  • Order Book, Demand & Sales Management:
    • Responsible for administrating orders from customers in accordance with the agreed contract and loading sales orders
    • Responsible for raising invoices in line with contract terms where appropriate
  • Change Management:
    • Preparation of data and support to modification claims and quotations
    • Implement commercial contracts for change as appropriate
  • Bid and Proposal Management:
    • Prepare quotations in line with sign off procedures including the population of a pricing model
  • Any other reasonable duties

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience in customer relationship management, contract management, and demand forecasting
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data related to P&L and budgeting
  • Familiarity with commercial proposal writing and business modeling
  • Travel to other GKN locations and customers

Desirable:

  • Qualification in business studies or contract law would be preferable
