Introduction to the job

Your role is to act as the Office of the CIO (OCIO) Business Partner supporting a dedicated part of the IT portfolio. You will informally lead a dedicated team of support specialists, working together to support IT Department Heads, Project and Portfolio Managers, as well as Release Train Engineers and Scrum Masters on topics such as financials, progress reporting, planning, and quality assurance. The PMO Business Partner acts as a liaison for IT Department Heads for both the Change and Run portfolios.

Role and responsibilities

You challenge your stakeholders on the effective and consistent use of ASML processes and methodologies. By providing clear analysis and insight on portfolio financials, progress, quality, issues, and risks, you support senior management in effective decision making. You give direction to the team and steer them to proactively initiate consistent improvements, initiatives, and tasks. You help actively to share knowledge within the IT community and the OCIO team by organizing and/or contributing to the content of knowledge sharing events. As a PMO Business Partner you'll:

  • Take End2End ownership of OCIO deliverables.
  • Facilitate alignment between members from different OCIO capabilities (e.g. IT Delivery Support, IT Assurance, Agile Coaches).
  • Create sub-sector improvement plans to set focus and direction.
  • Prepare team backlog ensuring it’s properly prioritized.
  • Balance priorities at team level.
  • Enable and empower IT Operations Sub Sector stakeholders' decision making through standardized practices and information.
  • Align with IT Department Heads to understand their needs.
  • Support Head of Portfolio in the preparation for Sector Portfolio meetings and monthly operational alignment sessions with Business Senior Stakeholders.

Education and experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes. As IT PMO Business Partner, you’ll need:

  • A relevant Bachelor or Master's degree.
  • 5-10 years of working experience in project/portfolio management and/or SAFe in a large, international organization, working as (agile) project management officer, or a similar position.
  • Experience in data analysis, providing advice, and preparing scenarios for senior leaders.
  • Experience with implementation of changes and improvement initiatives, or ability to do so.
  • Sound knowledge of, and working experience in, project & portfolio management methodologies like PMBOK/Prince2 and MoP.
  • Sound knowledge of, and working experience in, SAFe, Agile, and Scrum.
  • Preferably, working experience with Microsoft Project Online, Jira (Align), and Spotfire.

Context of the position

This position is part of the Delivery Support organization within the Office of the CIO. The PMO Business Partner reports to the Manager Delivery Support and has internal interfaces with colleagues of the Office of the CIO, Epic Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, (Chief) Product Owners, Solution Team Managers, Portfolio Managers, Competence Center Directors, other IT and Business stakeholders, Finance, Purchasing, suppliers, and consultants.
