About the role

Passionate about sales consulting, closing complex deals, building lasting relationships, and driving a greener future? This role is made for you!

As our Senior Sales Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding SkyNRG’s presence and impact in the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) market. With sales goals set to double between 2025 and 2026, we need a highly experienced closer to help unlock our greatest market opportunities globally, including in North America.

This role requires not just proven sales skills, but the ability to lead by example, bring emotional intelligence to customer interactions, and share knowledge with other colleagues. You will be selling SAF certificates to corporations with strong ESG plans to reduce the carbon footprint of their business travel and air cargo movements. The target market is the voluntary market (as opposed to the mandated market that applies to fuel suppliers at airports). You will work directly with senior stakeholders across multiple industries, develop and execute on new business opportunities, and ensure SkyNRG achieves its ambitious sales and margin targets.

Success in your role means you will have achieved significant new sales conversions, built a strong pipeline, and become a trusted counterpart for both customers and colleagues.

Your responsibilities will largely include:

  • Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and approach sales targets through proactive outreach, networking, events, and leveraging your personal and professional networks.
  • Deal Conversion: Create compelling sales proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure internal approvals while ensuring terms are feasible, commercially attractive, and in line with SkyNRG’s strategy.
  • Market Development: Spot and act upon new market opportunities, including voluntary Scope 3 credit sales, and collaborate with colleagues to capitalize on these.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and leads to ensure a long-term pipeline of opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Partner Engagement team to identify cross-selling opportunities with existing customers.
  • Sales Administration: Manage your own pipeline and documentation, including preparing proposals, updating CRM, and ensuring follow-ups—no task is “too small.”

Your profile

As a growing company in a rapidly developing industry, we are looking for an accomplished sales professional who brings deep expertise to the table, is passionate about business hunting, thrives in a dynamic environment and isn't afraid of change. Ideally, you recognize yourself in the following:

Must-Haves:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in (consultative) sales, ideally in energy, carbon, or commodities markets.
  • Proven track record of building client books and closing complex deals.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated hunting, prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical aspects of SAF/SAFc (Sustainable Aviation Fuels and SAF certificates – e.g. similar to certificates in the Electricity market), including registries, standards, and basic GHG (Greenhouse gas) methodologies.
  • “Executive presence” with the credibility to engage senior stakeholders confidently.
  • Motivation to remain hands-on in sales rather than aspiring to a VP/Director track—someone who thrives on direct customer contact.
  • Quick learner, comfortable with (technical) details.
  • Adaptable to fast-changing environments, products, and markets.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator, eager to share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and handle tasks independently.
  • Emotional intelligence, resilience, and persistence.
  • Team player who celebrates joint achievements and contributes to collective success.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to create engaging sales materials and pitches.
  • Experience with HubSpot or other CRM tools.
  • Experience representing a company at industry events.

What we offer

  • 30 paid holidays + 2 extra days for choosing sustainable travel options for your holidays
  • Attractive bonus (~1 extra month’s salary)
  • Participation in the Employee Participation Plan (EPP) – giving you the opportunity to become a shareholder and share in the company’s success
  • €5,000 dedicated budget every 3 years for professional development
  • Commuting travel reimbursement (1st class public transport or kilometer allowance) + Lease a Bike plan
  • Work at a BCorp in the city center of Amsterdam
  • Flexible working arrangements: hybrid in-office/remote
  • Generous employer pension contribution
  • Paid Volunteering Day
  • Access to our electric company boat (also for private use), free delicious lunches, and social activities all part of the deal!
