Lead a Team Driving Medical Product Development and Lifecycle Management at Philips

This is a unique opportunity to advance your career as Technical Department Manager – Mechanical & Lifecycle Engineering within Philips’ Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Systems business.

This business unit is responsible for the marketing, development, and manufacturing of X-ray systems used in cardiac and vascular medical diagnosis and interventions (e.g., balloon angioplasty and stent procedures). Our customers are interventional specialists in cardiology and radiology departments across hospitals worldwide.

Your role:

  • As Technical Department Manager, you will ensure that Philips’ IGT X-ray systems continue to deliver world-class reliability and innovation, enabling clinicians to perform life-saving cardiac and vascular procedures with confidence.
  • You will lead a department of 15 highly skilled Lead Engineers, Designers, and Change Leads. Together with your team, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Supplier Quality, Operations, Customer Services, Procurement, Quality, Innovation, and Marketing) as well as external suppliers and customers, ensuring alignment on technology roadmaps, sourcing strategies, and product quality.
  • This leadership role offers the opportunity to strengthen your expertise in people leadership, lifecycle management, medical technology, and regulatory compliance while shaping the future of cutting-edge imaging systems. You will also contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, and talent development, further building your leadership career in healthcare technology.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in a medical or other highly regulated environment. Strong background in testing, quality assurance, and lifecycle management.
  • You are skilled in change management, process optimization, and continuous improvement. Abstract, analytical, and creative thinker with strong organizational talent.
  • You have a Master’s degree or higher in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO13485, ISO14971).
  • You are a leader by example with an improvement-driven mindset.
