About this role

At Just Eat Takeaway.com, we’ve built a world-class security team that believes passionately in protecting our products, as well as the data of our customers and employees. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Offensive Security Engineer to join our Application Security team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and exploiting security vulnerabilities across our applications, networks, and systems. You will play a crucial role in improving our security posture by conducting in-depth penetration tests, simulating real-world attacks, and working with cross-functional teams to remediate vulnerabilities. An ideal candidate will also have experience or interest in bug bounty programs, leveraging insights from the broader security community to further enhance our approach to vulnerability management.

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Conduct thorough penetration tests on web, mobile, cloud and on prem based applications and APIs.
• Identify, exploit, and document security vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors.
• Simulate real-world attacks to assess the security of our applications and systems.
• Collaborate with software developers, architects, and DevOps teams to communicate findings and provide actionable recommendations for remediation.
• Design and implement security testing strategies to uncover new vulnerabilities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest vulnerabilities, exploits, tools, and methodologies in the security landscape.
• Assist in developing secure coding practices and training sessions for development teams.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of security guidelines, standards, and procedures.

What will you bring to the team?

• Extensive experience in penetration testing, application security, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of common security aspects and flaws (e.g. OWASP), as well as secure coding practices.
• Hands-on-experience with application security testing and code review.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices in languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript or Go.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical security issues and remediation guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in bug bounty programs, vulnerability disclosure, or security research.
• Familiarity and hands-on-experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security models.
• Prior involvement in security communities or contributions to open-source security projects.
