About the Team

DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We explore robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics in the long term. If you have a passion for applying autonomous aviation technologies in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you!

About the Role

As an Operations Specialist, you’ll play a key role in powering our drone delivery operations by coordinating directly with customers, merchants, and our flight ops team to ensure every order runs smoothly. In this role, you’ll be on the ground driving execution in Concord and nearby sites, gathering feedback to improve both the customer and merchant experience, and partnering with product and engineering teams to refine our tools and processes. Over time, you’ll help build out documentation and process flows that enable our program to scale, while contributing to a fast-moving team that’s shaping the future of delivery.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Coordinate drone deliveries end-to-end, working directly with customers, merchants, and the flight ops team to ensure smooth execution at our Concord and Bay Point sites, with occasional visits to the San Francisco office.
  • Gather, log, and share detailed feedback on tools, processes, and experiences to drive improvements across product, engineering, and operations.
  • Build scalable documentation and process flows that strengthen team efficiency and prepare the program for growth.
  • Gain hands-on skills in aviation operations, cross-functional coordination, and process improvement while supporting testing and live operations in a fast-moving, innovative space.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 1–2 years of experience in operations, logistics, or a customer-facing role where you managed coordination across multiple stakeholders.
  • You’re comfortable working primarily on-site in Concord and Bay Point (with occasional visits to San Francisco) and can adapt to changing schedules in a fast-moving environment.
  • You’re detail-oriented and process-driven, able to log and document workflows that improve team efficiency and support scaling operations.
  • You have strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and share feedback clearly.
  • You’re comfortable supporting light field testing, including occasional equipment handling (up to 50 lbs) and working alongside a flight operations team.
  • A Part 107 certification (or willingness to obtain one) is a plus.

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

That’s why we offer a comprehensive benefits package to all regular employees, which includes a 401(k) plan with employer matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, wellness benefits, commuter benefits match, paid time off and paid sick leave in compliance with applicable laws (e.g. Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act). DoorDash also offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, 11 paid holidays, disability and basic life insurance, family-forming assistance, and a mental health program, among others.

  • For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
  • For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
