Join SBM Offshore as a Shutdown Team Lead

Purpose

  • As Shutdown Lead you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all shutdown activities for offshore facilities, as well as drafting or reviewing all necessary engineering deliverables. You ensure that shutdown operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, minimizing downtime while maximizing productivity. Your position involves leading a multidisciplinary team, liaising with various departments and contractors, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the definition of the Shutdown Scope of Work, its follow-up and control of changes to this scope.
  • You develop and execute comprehensive shutdown plans, workpacks, schedules, and strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • You coordinate activities across Operations, Engineering, Construction and HSE to ensure smooth and efficient shutdown execution.
  • You prepare, review and manage Engineering deliverables, risk assessments, and execution method statements for all shutdown tasks.
  • You lead the Unit Shutdown Team, ensuring effective performance throughout the shutdown.
  • You identify, organize, and manage resources, equipment, and materials to ensure their timely availability for shutdown activities.
  • You oversee logistics planning, ensuring smooth personnel, equipment, and materials movement.
  • You enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting safety briefings and risk assessments.
  • You monitor shutdown progress, report on performance, and provide post-shutdown evaluations to identify and implement improvements for future projects.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or related field).
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent is desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering and Construction in the Offshore oil and gas industry, preferably in Brownfield interventions, with at least 5 years in a shutdown coordination management role.
  • Familiarized with working procedure, regulatory compliance and offshore constraints.
  • Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale shutdowns in offshore or onshore facilities.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment within the oil and gas sector.
