What will you do:

Are you an experienced and detail-oriented business controller invigorated by complex challenges? At De Jong Verpakking by Stora Enso – one of the largest producers of corrugated trays and boxes – you’ll have the opportunity to significantly influence an organization amidst a major transformation.

As Business Controller, you will oversee sales and HR activities. Your role involves translating data into impactful insights and collaborating closely with departments such as sales, operations, HR, production, and logistics.

  • Sales Controlling: Monitor and report on sales performance, identifying (seasonal) trends and areas for improvement. Collaborate with the sales team to establish financial targets, budget and forecasts. Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies to drive sales growth and profitability.
  • HR Controlling: Monitor and report on occupancy and vacancy rates, personnel cost per headcount and external workforce costs. Collaborate with HR to identify areas for improvement.
  • Forecasting & Scenario Analysis: Contributing to rolling forecasts and scenario models based on growth drivers to enable proactive organizational strategies.
  • Streamlining Reports & Dashboards: Revamp the current management information system and developing efficient dashboards in cooperation with the BI team and Commercial Analyst.
  • Projects within Turn-Around Plan: Contribute to an accelerated optimization program focusing on pricing, value selling, (outsourced) personnel cost controlling, acting as a content expert and business sparring partner.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in business control, financial control, transactional finance, and BI. De Jong Verpakking boasts a hands-on, direct, and pragmatic culture, yet encourages personal growth, initiative, and entrepreneurship.

Your profile:

We are seeking a business controller with a commercial mindset. You should have:

  • A completed HBO/WO degree in finance, business administration, or accountancy;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a production company;
  • Strong analytical skills, a structured working approach, and a good operational understanding;
  • The ability to work independently while actively seeking collaboration;
  • Excellent communication skills, a critical and solution-oriented mindset;
  • Capacity to elevate the role to the level of Business Partnering alongside two other business controllers;
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is a big plus.

Where you will be working:
