Careers at Royal IHC

Introduction
Royal IHC has established the One Equipment Company (OEC) to deliver unique and forward-thinking propositions to the global maritime industry. Built on a strong foundation including one of the broadest engineering capabilities in the sector, market leadership in maritime equipment, advanced automation for autonomy, and an extensive global network of facilities, OEC is a central part of Royal IHC’s long-term strategy.

Our portfolio includes dredge pumps and other key dredging and offshore components, autonomous operations software, spare parts for installed systems, and vessel conversion services. To accelerate our commercial growth, we’re expanding our international sales force, and we’re looking for an ambitious Account Manager New Business to strengthen our commercial activities in the dredging market.

The Role
As Account Manager New Business, you’ll be the driving force behind the growth of our dredging equipment and services portfolio. You’ll actively generate new business and expand existing accounts in the global dredging industry, targeting contractors, port authorities and developers.

You’ll be part of a close-knit sales team of 9 colleagues, each focusing on one of our core markets: dredging and offshore. You’ll start by focusing on dredging, with the opportunity to move into other sectors over time, depending on your interests and performance.

This role combines the freedom of an entrepreneurial hunter with the backing of a strong technical and proposal team. And if you’re successful in managing complex sales processes, you’ll have clear opportunities to grow into senior roles, such as Area Sales Manager (responsible for selling entire vessels) or team leadership positions.

As your accounts are international, you’ll also be expected to travel abroad on average once every two months to meet clients and close deals in person.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in growing our customer base and market share. In this position, you will:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the global dredging industry
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing accounts, such as contractors, port authorities and developers
  • Lead the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing and after-sales follow-up
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline aligned with commercial targets
  • Engage with key stakeholders at both senior business and technical levels
  • Represent OEC at international client meetings and industry events (travel approx. every 2 months)

Your Profile

We are looking for a self-starting, result-driven sales talent with a sharp commercial instinct. You bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in high-tech or maritime industries
  • A strong track record in complex sales and new business development
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed

Experience in dredging is a plus, but relevant experience in the maritime or high-tech industry is equally valued.

What we offer

  • Gross monthly salary between €5,700 and €8,354 plus 8% holiday allowance
  • Strong work-life balance with 40 days off per year (including 13 ADV days), with the option to buy or sell additional leave
  • Hybrid working opportunities
  • Travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometer and a net home-working allowance of €3 per day
  • Discount on supplementary health insurance with VGZ and participation in a profit-sharing scheme
  • Access to Royal IHC’s Social Fund for partial reimbursement of healthcare-related expenses not covered by insurance
  • Free access to over 3,000 (external) training courses via the IHC Academy
  • Unlimited use of our in-house fitness facilities
  • After passing your probation period, you will receive a one-time €750 net payment to set up your home office
