We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our wholesale company, Karpack, which consists of 60 employees across various departments including operational staff, commercial employees, and office employees. The Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the site, maintaining high levels of productivity, and acting as the primary point of contact between the site and the Managing Director of Wholesalers. As a key figure in a company transitioning from family-owned to part of a larger corporate entity, the Site Manager will also play a crucial role in supporting and facilitating this change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of Karpack and ensure all activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Is ultimately responsible for coaching and supporting the development of other managers and employees, with the aim of strengthening leadership and team performance within the organisation.
  • Manage and lead a diverse team of 60 employees, including operational and office staff.
  • Will collaborate with the commercial manager, who is responsible for the commercial department, on a frequent base to optimize the customer intimacy.
  • Collaborate with the finance, operational excellence, safety, sustainability, IT, purchasing, and HR departments, which are integrated within or directly report to the larger organization. This role requires familiarity with working in a matrix structure.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies and policies in line with the company’s objectives and targets.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Has an OPEX responsibility within the company P&L.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the site and the Managing Director of Wholesalers, providing regular updates on site performance and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement and development.
  • Support the transition of the company from a family-owned business to part of a larger corporate structure, ensuring a smooth and successful integration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent level of intellectual capability.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a wholesale or distribution environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire employees.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High proficiency in IT skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
